Slow and steady wins the race 🐢
"I got them xans for that ass." Wayne could barely understand his plug tell him. Everything was blurry due to the drugs he was already on and he now was being offered more.
The room seemed to spin around him but he wanted more, this was the only way he could be free and not feel the pain that his mother left behind.
"Ll-Let me get some." He slurred his words pulling the rest of his pay check out of his pockets basically flushing the light bill and grocery money down the drain.
"How much you want Unc'?"
"That nigga don't need nothing, you see he already fucked up." A bystander commented. A blind person could see how messed up Wayne was and he didn't plan on stopping any time soon.
They watched Wayne lose his mind on the filthy floor. After many failed attempts of him trying to gain his balance he gave up and decided to just lay there until he sobered up.
"Momma." He winced grabbing his pounding heart as his shirt soaked with sweat and tears. "Help me momma." He said just above a whisper. "Help me."
All he wanted was his pain to go away. His addiction had began almost a year back around this same time.
He couldn't deal with the cold and empty feeling he got around her anniversary. So he turned to drugs.
When he was high, he was another person. The drugs turned that empty feeling into rage , which was then taken out on Lauren.

"So what type of material are the counter tops?" Lauren ran her finger tips over the island planted in the middle of Ajayy's kitchen.
She didn't particularly care about what his counter was made of but she was dreading going home and she figured asking little pointless questions would buy her time.
"Shidd'." Ajayy signed running his hands down his face he couldn't care less about the counters because he was tired. "Ion know probably marble or something." He mumbled.
"Oh It nicely compliments the cabinets." She added pretending to closely examine his kitchen.
"What's up? You asking all these questions like you never been in my house before." Lauren had been there before but it's not what you think the farthest she had been was the kitchen.
"Nothing, I just really like your kitchen that's all." Lauren lied through her teeth and she wasn't fooling anyone but herself.
"If you say so." Ajayy signed. "But I'm about to go to bed, you leaving or what?" Ajayy knew Lauren didn't want to leave, she had been sparking pointless conversations with him all night, but he didn't know why, so instead of flat out asking her to spin the night he suggested it so she couldn't say no.
"It is getting late." She clicked the power button on her iPhone noticing she didn't have any missed calls from Wayne. She didn't know where to be afraid or relieved.
"You know you don't like driving in the dark so you might as well stay the night." He slid his hands into the pockets of his sweat pants. He could tell she was running from something but he didn't know it was a fist.
Lauren figured she would avoid getting attacked tonight and stay with Ajayy.
"I guess I can." She slid her phone into her pocket. "Your little girlfriend not gone get mad?" She questioned she knew that Ajayy slept with many females but she didn't know he actually had a girlfriend until today when he slipped up and said it during one of their conversations.
