Kendall's POV

After our little dance, Cara had fallen asleep on the bench with me by her side and her head on my lap. One of her legs were arched and the other was laid straight, thigh on the bench while the rest of it, beginning with her calf was hanging in the edge of the bench.

I stroked Cara's hair, making her hair come along with my fingers, softly tugging her scalp. I leaned my head back, staring at the sky. The orange sunset had mixed in with the darkness of the sky. The gray clouds shrouding the glow of the rising full moon. Rain must be coming.

I watched Cara as she slept, peaceful as always. There was an immediate strike of light, making the linings of the dark clouds visible. After a second, a loud grumbling noise had came out from the sky. This caused Cara to stir, now she was facing my stomach, her hair flowing down to cover her face. I had to wake her, it was about to rain.

"Cara." I stroked her arm.

"Mmm..." Cara hummed, moving slightly.

"You have to wake up babe." Now, I shook her awake.

"Okay... Okay." Cara brushed her hair off of her face. "I'm awake." She sat up straight as she stretched her arms, yawning. After a few times of rapid blinking, she opened her eyes.

"It's about to ra-" I got cut off by the immediate downpour. "Rain." I deadpanned, my shoulders slouching.

"I just woke up for heavens sake!" Cara shouted at the sky, spreading her arms. "Yeesh, let's go." Cara muttered.

Cara stood up pulling me along with her. She intertwined our hands and pulled me as she began to run up the sidewalk towards where my cadillac was parked. The heavy drops of water attacked my body as I ran with Cara across the streets. Focusing on the lamp post ahead of us, Cara sprinted a bit quicker. Our shoes pounded heavily across the uneven pavement, frequently stepping on the deep areas of concrete covered with water puddles, causing water to splash up our legs.

"There!" Cara shouted as she pointed at a car beside a lamp post.

"Unlock it!" I shouted at Cara in a rush.

Cara fidgeted at her pockets, feeling where she kept the keys. After all the rush, she finally pulled out the key from one of the back pockets of her jeans. She pointed the key towards the cadillac, causing it to make a clicking sound, signaling the just unlocked doors.

Cara then ran over to my side of the car and opened the door.

"I'll drive?!" I shouted over to her.

"No!" She shouted as she shook her head. "Get in!" She added, signaling me to come over.

"Wha?!" I ran over to her. "You're gonna get sick! I could open my own door babe!" I exclaimed in worry as I sat down.

"Don't mind it!" Cara shouted back, raising her voice as the downpour grew stronger.

She closed my door and went over to her side, opening the door. She sat down in a hurry and slammed the door shut. Cara sighed, letting her head fall on the headrest.

"Well that was-"

"Exhausting?" I guessed.

"Fun." She corrected me, looking over at me while grinning like a fool.

She looked at the windshield and started snickering. I could see the crinkles by her eyes even in this shroud of darkness, the corners of her lips creating creases from them until the sides of her chin.

After awhile, her snickering turned into chortling. Her laugh was so contagious that as she began laughing, I began laughing a split second after. Now we looked like two soaked up idiots, laughing hysterically inside a parked car.

Then almost immediately, we both fell silent as we heard a grumble.

I looked at Cara, cluelessness displayed on my face. "I don't think that's the sky."

"It isn't." Cara confirmed, placing a hand on her belly.

I gave her a smirk, "Hungry?"

"Starving." She said, rubbing her belly as she gave me a grin.

With her final statement, she started the cadillac and it briefly chortled, then began to purr. She drove off, planning to go to a drive through before we ended our little journey home.
