Chapter 2

~First Day~

Bella's POV

        I was jostled from my slumber by the blaring sound of my alarm from the nightstand. I tapped the alarm and groaned, knowing that it's time for me to get ready for school. I quickly got out of bed and went to the bathroom. I finished in less than twenty minutes, then I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs.

        "Hey, Bells! Morning!" Emmett greeted while his mouth was still full.

        "Stop talking and just eat!" I scolded him.

        "Woah! Are you having your period or something? You seemed angry today," he said, trying to keep his laughter to himself.

        "No! Of course not! I'm not in a good mood. My alarm woke me up, and I got really pissed."

        "Oh, just get over it. Aren't you going to eat?" he asked, offering some eggs.

        "No, I don't feel like eating. I'll just wait for you outside. By the way, where's mom and dad?"

        "Well, as usual dad went to work early while mom went to the market."

        "Okay." I said. "Why did I not remember those daily routines of my parents?"

        After some minutes, we got into Emmett's jeep and rode to school. It had been awkward for the both of us, so I decided to put my earphones on. Finally, we were parked in our usual spot. We went to the front desk to get our schedules and requirements for class. Soon we parted ways, and I bid goodbye to Emmett.

        "See you at lunch, Bells!" Emmett said.

        "Okay, see you, too! Enjoy!"

        Angela Weber, my friend, greeted me. She was really kind and a simple girl. We checked each other's schedule, and we found out that we didn't have the same classes for some subjects. I have Biology for my first subject while she has Trigonometry.

        "So what's your plans for today?" she asked.

        "Nothing, maybe meet new friends again," I answered her question, not even sure if I would really meet new friends in school.

        "Hey, I've heard that there was a family that moved here a week ago and the kids will start school, too," she told me in a whispering tone.

        Oh, hope they're good!

        "Maybe that'd be great!" I tried to sound convincing, but I was a terrible liar.

        The bell rang, and we went to our designated rooms. I went inside the classroom and gave my pass to the teacher. He told me to sit in any of the empty seats. After I fixed my things, a boy with bronze hair walked inside the room, and he didn't even look familiar to me. He started to walk near me, and I looked around seeing that I was the only one who didn't have a seatmate. Then the teacher asked the boy beside me to introduce himself.

        "Hello, I'm Edward Cullen, and I'm new here. My family and I moved here a week ago, and I hope I'll make friends with you."

        After that, the teacher started the lesson, and I began to write notes in my notebook. Time went really slow, and it was like I wanted to go out already! I didn't even feel comfortable sitting with the new student because it's completely awkward. I wasn't focusing on the lecture of the teacher, but instead I made scribbles on my notes! Ugh! The teacher dismissed us, and I fixed my things. I stacked my books when suddenly most of it fell down. I didn't notice that this 'Cullen Boy' handed me my books already.

        "Thank you," I said politely.

        "Sure, no problem. I'm Edward Cullen and for sure you know me already." He grinned.

        It took me seconds to answer. I was dazzled with the way he made eye contact with me and his smile.

        "Uhm, yes. I'm Bella Swan,"  I said with a smile, too.

        "Nice meeting you. Do you mind if my sister and I will stay at your table during lunch time? Because, you know, I'm new here and you're my first friend," he said shyly.

        I answered right away without even thinking. "Sure, it's okay. In that way we can get to know each other more."

        "Thank you so much. See you later!" he said and bid goodbye to me.

        He walked out of the room leaving me shocked and confused. He said that I was his friend, and I also told him that I wanted to get to know him more! Oh My! What happened to me? Why did I react and felt that way? I went straight to my next class, and it all went by fast while my class with Edward went slower than ever in Biology. What did that mean?!
