Chapter 8: Little Cafe (Revised)

The sound of the door closing reached Kirenia's ears, and only then did she look at the clock. "It's almost twelve. I'd better get some shoes on. Pamela should be here soon. Where are those high tops? Oh right they're next to the door." Kirenia put on a pair of black high tops, just as her doorbell rang. "Come in, just be careful it's a zoo in here." The door opened, and Pamela stepped in. "Kirenia dear. Are you ready to go..Oh my!" Kirenia turned, and saw Iblis sniffing at Pamela. "Iblis!" Iblis chirred, and nuzzled Pamela's leg. "I could've sworn he was going to attack you." Pamela looked at Iblis, then bent down and pet him, earning another chirr. "I didn't realize you had more than one pet." "I've got more than one now. I got three today. A kitten as a mystery gift, then Iblis and a little Corgi as part of a gift from my dad. Almost everyone is coming. Cali is staying her with Titan."From there it was a twenty minute struggle to get a leash or harness on Scout and Iblis, especially since Iblis hated the harness. So once everyone was in the car, they were off to a nearby Cafe. "I saw this little place on my way home the other day. I decided we'd have lunch here and catch up. And the funniest thing happened when I saw it. I remembered that I used to take you and Jason to a little cafe like this when you were younger. I still remember the time you chewed out that waitress for calling my precious boy ugly..." "And I told her if she wanted to see ugly, then she should go look in the mirror, and she should pray that her reflection wouldn't run away." The two women had a good laugh at the memory. "Remember the time I almost mauled the mailman because he flipped you off?" "He got away with everything but his dignity." The girls laughed again. They pulled up to the Cafe, and exited the car, bringing Iblis and Scout with them. "How about the time you chased bullies away from Jason and me at camp with a rolling pin?" "The counselors were furious." The girls stepped in, and instantly were greeted by a waitress. "Table for two?" Both girls nodded, and were quickly seated at a table out front. "Kirenia. do you remember the time you chased Elias out of the house?" "I sent him to the E.R., but personally Pamela, nobody gets away with going after you like that. If Jason and I hadn't heard you scream, then who knows what would've happened. And I do hope that you realize, that because of that attack, Elias is on my list." Pamela cocked her head to the side lightly. "Your list?" "Yes Pamela, my list. Who ever has their name on my list, has done something so unforgivable, that they must die. I gave Elias a chance to change, but he didn't. I've got an entire Hive's worth of animals keeping an eye out for him. That attack was the last straw." "I see." The waitress came out, and took the girls orders, before hurrying back inside. A little Robin flew onto the table, and began to chirp at Kirenia. "Oh. Thank you little one. Here, have some bird seed." Kirenia reached into a small pouch on her belt, and pulled out a small handful of bird seed, which the bird ate quickly, before flying off. "What was that about?" "It was wishing me a happy birthday. I can understand the speech of some animals." Pamela's blue eyes went wide. "H-How?" "I'm not sure. I've just always been able to do it." Scout suddenly yipped, and jumped into Pamela's lap, while Iblis jumped into Kirenia's. "I don't think they like being ignored." Pamela commented while petting Scout "Probably. Is that is, hmm?" Kirenia flipped Iblis over and started to rub his belly, making the little Xeno's tail go crazy, loving the feeling of getting his stomach rubbed. The waitress returned with Pamela and Kirenia's orders, along with some treats for Iblis and Scout. Pamela and Kirenia ate in silence, occasionally slipping the pets some of their food to keep them quiet, after finishing and Paying, Pamela drove Kirenia home, the two girls discussing possibly going for a swim in the lake once it warmed up, and trying to convince Jason to get in the water with them. "I'll see you then Pamela. Bye." "Goodbye dear." Kirenia closed the car door, and watched as Pamela drove off, before heading up her walkway, Iblis and Scout in tow. "Alright you two. Let's get inside, and settle down." The moment the door opened, Scout and Iblis, bolted inside, managing to pull their leashes from Kirenia's hands. Kirenia rolled her eyes, and followed them in, finding the two running around the living room, chasing each other. "Alright you two. That's enough." The two rowdy pets stopped, and trotted over to Kirenia, Iblis putting both his front paws on Kirenia's leg. Kirenia picked him up, and began to rub his head, earning a loud chirr. Kirenia plopped onto the couch, still holding Iblis, who squirmed out of her arms, and curled up on Kirenia's chest, shivering slightly. "You cold buddy?" Iblis curled up tighter, and whined. "Maybe I should weave you a warming sling, but in the meantime, let's cover up." Kirenia pulled the comforter she always kept on her couch over to her, and covered herself and Iblis up, before bringing her tail in front of her, and beginning to weave, carefully moving the tip of her tail while extruding webbing, using her hands to help shape and mold the black substance. Iblis chirred, and nuzzled Kirenia's chin, before a small yip reached Kirenia's ears, and Scout jumped up, Cali making her way over and up on Scout's back, before Titan hopped onto the couch and laid next to Kirenia. "It really is a zoo in here. I've got a Rottweiler, a Corgi, a Calico, and a flippin Xenomorph, who's friends with the Corgi." Titan woofed, before giving Iblis a big slobbery kiss. Iblis screeched, and swatted at Titan, hissing loudly. "I don't think he likes kisses." Kirenia looked at the clock, and noticed it was about dinner time. "I need up. I've gotta feed you all. And then hunt some poor sap down. I know Iblis will need some human meat tomorrow, because I don't have any besides hearts." Kirenia tapped Titan's nose, and the dog got the idea. He jumped up, went into the kitchen, picked up his food bowl, and dropped the metal bowl, to which the other three pets made a mad dash for the kitchen, freeing Kirenia, who set her partially woven sling on the coffee table, and went into the kitchen. Pulling the food from the cupboard, silently thanking Pamela for putting the new stuff away while she wrangled Iblis and Scout. "Ok. Cali first." Kirenia picked up the kitten, and placed her on the counter, while picking up a little glass bowl from next to the sink, and put a little bit of kitten food in it. "Eat up." Cali dug in, and instantly began to make little noises that sounded like she was saying "Om nom nom." "Aww. Ok, Iblis you're next." Kirenia got one of the bowls that her dad brought over, and put some more kitten food in it, placing it and Iblis on the kitchen island. "Titan." Kirenia took a scoop of dry dog food, and put it in the bowl, leaving it next to the fridge. "Now for Scout." Kirenia took a scoop of puppy food, and placed it into a bowl as well, leading the Corgi to a spot in front of the kitchen sink. Kirenia made sure everyone was eating from their respective bowls, before slinking out the back door, and teleporting to her hunting grounds, already hearing campers. Kirenia transformed into a white wolf, and began her plan. She trotted over to where the campsite was, and saw four adult men. Judging by their scent, none of them had families, and one was a convicted child molester, the scent of sweat, tears, and unhappiness just seemed to waft off him. Kirenia trotted into the campsite, and yipped at the men, all turning to her. "Guys, take a look at that." One man who smelt like the ocean stood up, and walked over to her, holding a hotdog out. "Aren't you pretty? And it looks like you're a girl wolf. Here girl, it's for you." Kirenia sniffed the offered food, before taking it and eating it, making sure to swish her tail while she ate and got a head rub. "Your fur is so soft and pretty, it reminds me of fresh snow. Aren't you nice. Hey guys, take a picture of me and her." "I'm taking a video, I've never seen a wolf with rainbow eyes." The man who was petting her, took a good look at her eyes, and saw the rainbow coloring. "You do have rainbow eyes. You're so pretty." Kirenia took a look behind the man petting her, and saw the child molester, sneaking up behind him, the glint of metal in his hand alerting her to a knife. Kirenia snarled, and pounced, managing to leap onto the man, and knocking the knife from his hand, the fallen weapon alerting the others in the group. "The hell man? Were you going to stab him or the wolf?" "The fucking wolf. Don't you know who that is? That's Kirenia Krueger in disguise. The bitch's dad has been after me for years, and now he's sent his daughter after me." Kirenia giggled, and transformed, making sure to use her powers to swap to her killing outfit. '"My father has been after YOU!? I highly doubt it. I'm only here to get food for my pet." "You mean your mutt." Kirenia had the man by the throat in a split second. "Titan is no mutt, he is a purebred Rottweiler. I'm referring to my newest pet, my pet Runner Iblis. Just got him today." The man began to struggle, while Kirenia took a good whiff of his scent. "You're wanted for escaping from prison." She turned sharply to the other men in the group. "I want one of you to call the police, I'll keep him steady." One of the guys who wasn't recording nodded, and pulled out his phone, calling the requested authorities. "They'll be here right away Miss Krueger." "Please call me Kirenia." "Alright Kirenia." The police arrived ten minutes later, and took the man Kirenia was holding. "I must be going. Tata." Kirenia waved, and teleported home, killess. Iblis took notice of her arrival, and dashed from his place on the window seal next to the new rose bushes, jumping up and making a barking like noise, alerting the other residents. Cali came trotting down the stairs, meowing loudly, Scout right behind her, while Titan slowly walked up, the dog obviously having something in his mouth. "What cha' got boy?" Kirenia took the item and realized it was the box from her cousin. "I totally forgot about this." Kirenia opened the box, revealing a curled Xenomorph charm on a black choker. The charm itself was clearly made from a black gemstone of some sort, but what Kirenia was unsure of. Deciding not to ponder it any longer, Kirenia clasped the accessory around her neck and looked at herself in the hall mirror. The charm seemed to glow slightly in the moonlight flowing through the nearby window. "I love it!" Kirenia took it off, and placed it on a nearby stand. "I'll wear it tomorrow. Right now, I need to get some dinner, then get to bed." Kirenia entered her kitchen, and began to busy herself with making dinner, taking one of the hearts out of the fridge, her thoughts slowly drifting towards Tex, and the small attraction she had towards him, unaware of what was happening in Springwood at that very moment.
