Time to look

I woke up early the next morning; in truth I had never really fallen asleep. Every time I tried I had dreams of my tribe running from the fire and me being to helpless to save them. Yinlel woke up early as well. We waited for Molly and fed Yelix with a strange cup with a teat attached that molly had brought. It contained some strange formula that smelled like sour milk but looked like the good stuff.

Molly appeared soon after Yelix had eaten. She had with her a whole bag full of things including the yummy granola in bar form. "We have to get on a bus out of town then I will leave you with money for a taxi but they won't be able to take you far you may have some walking to do," molly said in an apologetic tone. I wondered why she was sorry. Walking was not new to us. We walked EVERYWHERE back home, for we did not have these fancy cars, or buses. I didn't even know what a taxi was!

Molly laughed at our expressions as we helped her take down the tent. Yinlel was moving in a way that looked depressed. I stared at him in wonder until he shot me a mind message, "I am just worried for the tribe. I fear I will never see my sister or mother again." he thought to me. I gave him a look at said I agreed then continued to pack up our camp.

We walked to a bench covered by a strange glass dome that was missing a wall. There were signs and posters plastered to the sides of the glass looking dome. Molly sat on the bench humming peacefully holding Yelix. She insisted on holding him. I was reluctant at first, I felt responsible for Kicha's baby brother, but eventually I gave in when my arms became sore. He was a sturdy baby and weighted quite a bit.

Soon a large metal tube on wheels came towards us. I recognized it as a bus. Molly had pointed it out to us the day before. I bit down on my lip I wasn't sure I was ready but I knew I had to be. Molly led us on the bus and we all stumbled on. The bus was even stranger from the inside than the outside.

It had strange tall seats and a bunch of glass windows like the library. There were people everywhere. Molly led us to two seats in the back molly and I sat in one and Yinlel holding Yelix in the other.

The ride was long, bumpy, hot, and uncomfortable. When the bus finally got to our stop Molly lead us off and to a strange room that had shelves lined with that strange tent material. There was a long table with a tall man in a uniform behind it. He was standing next to a metallic machine that had a sliding compartment where he kept green paper and coins. It reminded me of a computer. The man looked up at us and waited for us to say something. He looked very annoyed and irritated. Molly was the one to speak up first, " excuse me can I get two student tickets to ride 133?" she asked kindly pulling out a small pink wallet covered in some shimmers stuff. The man sighed," can I see a student ID? I can't get ya the student discount without an ID." he held his hand out expectantly. Molly quickly handed him a small plastic square that had her picture on it. Then man looked it over and handed it back. "what about your friend?" he asked eyeing me. "Err... She left her's at home but she's in my class I swear." I saw molly cross her fingers behind her back. He looked at me a moment longer then handed us the tickets and she payed him.

We walked over to where Yinlel was waiting holding Yelix. "OK, so I got you both a ticket. The baby gets in for free here. You guys stay on the bus until the last stop. From there you need to walk the rest of the way," she handed me a map and what she had left in her wallet. "Use the money for food if you run out of the food I packed. Follow this trail on the map," she traced a small trail on the map with her finger. "The place you're looking for should be around here," she circled a big blank spot on the map with her finger. Suddenly she reached up and hugged me. "Good luck! I hope you guys find it!" she cried. I smiled and hugged her back wordlessly. Molly went over to say her goodbye to the buys as I looked around for the bus we would be riding.

We loaded the bus a little while later. We waved goodbye to Molly through the window and slowly the bus drove away. Yelix was now in my lap and I was feeding him a bottle Molly had left us with. He only had 2 left so we would have to find water as soon as we got off. Yelix looked up at me with curious eyes. He looked confused and almost scared. I knew he missed his mom, dad, and sisters. I missed them all to. I missed my Dad most of all. I thought about them. I hoped they were safe. I hoped the fire hadn't killed anyone I loved.

I woke up to Yinlel shaking me awake. "It's a rest stop. You may want to go to the bathroom. We also need to get the bottles refilled for Yelix. We have the formula just no water to add to it," he said quietly enough not to wake Yelix. I nodded my head and stood up spreading my arms. A wave of dizziness washed over me. I fell back down in my seat immediately. "Are you ok?" Yinlel asked his voice full of concern. I wanted to answer but I couldn't see what was in front of me, couldn't open my mouth to respond, and slowly Yinlel's voice was gone and I was in a large rock filled dent in the earth. I could see a crack in the ground and a faint whisper saying "Only magic blood. Magic blood only can find them. them to save them" I wanted to ask what the voice meant but suddenly the crack gave a blue glow and I was back in the bus sitting next Yinlel. He was looking down at me with a concerned look on his face. Yelix was still asleep. "What happened Anya? Are you ok?" he asked his voice still showing signs of panic. I sat up and held my hand to my head. I was still dizzy. "Ya, I guess. I just got really dizzy for a second. Did you see that?" I asked. He looked at me like I was jumping into a frozen lake. "See what? All I saw was you fall and pass out. Why did you see something?" he was still semi concerned. I shook my head and began walking off the bus.

About an hour later we were back on the bus and heading for our final stop. Yelix was starting to get fussy more often. We hoped it wouldn't take much longer because we weren't sure how much longer we had. I looked out the window watching the scenery pass by in blurs.

I knew it was time to look and we didn't have much time.
