I woke up early. Yinlel was asleep and so was Yelix. I was laying with my head on Yinlel's chest. I felt comfortable and safe there with his arms around me, which only made me blush. I tried to sit up but his arms only tightened around me more protectively. "No." I heard him mumble in my ear. I smiled and shook my head. "We have to get up sometime" I reminded him. He sighed and opened his eyes. He sat up carefully so he would not wake Yelix or mess with any of my injuries. "Your fever has seemed to have broken." He commented. I nodded and sat up against the tree we had slept under. He let me lean on him to steady myself. Then he stood and began to lift me up. "No," I protested, "Let me walk. I will have to lean on you but I think I can walk, it will be slower but we will make it farther if I walk." He nodded and stood holding Yelix then held out his other hand to help me up. I took his hand and stood up slowly. I stumbled a bit but his arms were right there to catch me.
My leg felt strange in the odd looking brace he had bought for me but it made it easier to walk and made up for the fact that the leg was very weak. He put his arm around me so I could lean on him for support. "Is your shoulder feeling any better?" I asked concerned. He nodded a bit and said, "I bandaged it when you were asleep. All these injuries will make things move slower but when we get back and give them the moonstones I am sure Makara and Jamix can take care of them properly." I nodded in agreement and we kept on walking.
We were silent for the most part. Yinlel finally cleared his throat and spoke up, "Did you really mean what you said?" He asked me, "You weren't just saying it because I had saved you?" I looked at him confused. "You mean when I told you I loved you?" I asked shifting uncomfortably. He nodded. I sighed and looked him in the eyes stopping in my tracks. " Yinlel," I began, " The first time I told you that I did not even think you could hear me. I never really thought it possible before.. or really even considered it... but I really do love you, not because you saved me, or because we got forced on the journey together, but because I really do." I looked down blushing a deep red. He lifted my head so that I was looking at him. "I love you as well." He said as he leaned in to kiss me.
Before his lips even touched mine Yelix began to scream and cry. I sighed and looked at him. Yinlel let go of me and tried to quiet Yelix. I then realized that he was sweating and looked very pale. My mind instantly snapped to the memory of Naxsis lying unconscious in the field. "Yinlel I think he has the illness. The one that plagues the village." I cried out. Yinlel instantly felt his temperature. "He has a fever, let us just hope that it is just what you had. If he falls ill with the same thing that fell upon the tribe he might not live much longer." He said as he tried to calm Yelix.
We decided now would be a good time to take a break. Yinlel tried feeding Yelix. Yelix ate most of it then fell asleep. I sat next to Yinlel and held his hand. "Do we have any idea where we are going at this point?" I asked him sighing. He shook his head, "We have no map or any clue where we are now." He looked up at me then. He smiled. I laughed, "What is it?" I asked. He looked me in the eye. "We may still have hope yet." He exclaimed. I was VERY confused. "Yinlel what are you talking about?" I asked. "When I was looking for you I had no clue where to look." He said as if that solved everything.
"Ok that is great but how does it help us?" I asked.
He smiled even brighter, "I was meant to find you so there was like a magical pull... or attractions that lead me to you. Perhaps if we are meant to find the valley one of us will feel an attraction!" He shouted excitedly.
"That might be a good thing to test" I said. I leaned my head on his good shoulder. He ran his hand through my hair. "Do you still like to go swimming like you did as a kid?" He asked. I looked up at him and smiled. "You remember that?" I asked. He nodded. "Of course I do. Remember you are the one who taught me to swim." I laughed at that. "You were the worst student ever." I pointed out. He laughed as well, "Ya I remember. I also remember YOUR best friend Kicha was even worse than I was." He countered. I laughed again and sighed happily. "Just face it. I am the best swimmer in the tribe" I teased. He nodded in agreement and began to hum a familiar tune.
