They all stared at one another and everyone knew what the others were thinking, 'What the hell just happened?' Before they could look at each other for too long, the bell for class went again and they had postpone the potentially horrendous chat until after Science.

During Science the class were doing a practical, which was good because the booklet work was so boring it was like watching paint dry. James partnered up with Joseph and they went to get the equipment. As soon as they had lighted the Bunsen burner, Joseph broached the subject that had been on all of their minds since break time.
"James?" he asked.
"Yeah?" James answered warily.
"What do you think happened to Nathan?" he blurted. Before he could answer James saw that Joseph's hand was about to go into the flames!
"Jos-" he started but before James' could shout Joseph's hand went through the curtain of dancing flames...
