Nijimura x Reader (What I ask for)

"Shuzo, are we having lunch together?" You asked at your black haired boyfriend which seems to be busy looking at portfolio of the new player's.

"No, not today, (Y/N). There are some new recruitments and they seem to have potential. Specially that Akashi guy" he answered

"Oh really? Is he a freshman?" You asked

"Oi what's the sudden interest? I'm not going to tell you, uou might replace me with him" he teased

"Oh shut it,Shuzo. You know who I like"

"Yeah I'm just messing with you" he said and ruffled your hair

"Hey Shuzo we're still up for Saturday right?" You asked while walking home with him

"Saturday? Hmmm, I'm not sure. We have practice that day. There's a practice game with 2nd string and 3rd string and I want to see it"

"Oh... Okay. I understand" you smiled weakly and continued walking.

That night you texted him to make sure he's not overworking.

"Hey,Shuzo. Just making sure you're alright. You should take a break, you know. You can't be the best captain if you're sick. Anyways just take care. I love you!" You hit send and waited for a reply.

Half an hour had passed and there's still nothing from him so you decided to take a shower to refresh yourself.

When you get back you noticed you have a new message and you immediately opened it, seeing it's from your boyfriend

"K" was all it said.

It has been like that lately. Your conversation with him has been dull. You send a very long and lovely message and that's what you get. All his texts are either one lettered or basically just him apologizing and canceling date plans.

But you never complain of course. He's the captain. You can't hold him back.

A week later you heard that he gave his position to that Akashi guy.

"It's alright actually. I mean he's a good guy. He can make the team better" was what he said. So you just went along.

Days followed and students started to talk behind his back. They all said than Akashi is so much better a captain that him. That he actually didn't deserve that title. He knows about the rumors so being his girlfriend, you went and comforted him.

"Shuzo, you know that's not true. Yes Akashi-san is good but you deserved being a captain." You said and tried to hold his hands but he swatted it away which cause you to step back at his sudden action.

"You're just like them. Akashi this, Akashi that. I'm tired with all of you comparing me to him" he said and glared at you

"But I didn't--"

"Oh just shut up! You're not helping me!" He said and walked away. You faced the floor and tried to hide your tears. You went home feeling dead and reached for your phone.

"Nijimura, I'm sorry I'm doing this here. But I want to break up with you" you hit send and went to sleep. The next day you checked your phone and there isn't even a single text from him. You just accepted it and carry on with your life, without him

A week had passed and you still haven't heard anything from him. All they said was he took a break.

That afternoon you are preparing your things in your locker when he showed up.

"Hey"

"Hey"

Is that it? Those 3 years being with him and all he could say was hey. You wanted to cry but you held it back.

"I'm sorry"

"I forgive you" you answered

"Does that mean we're together again?"

"No. I just forgave you, that's all"

"I want you back, can you give that to me?"

"Give it to you? You're making it sound like I never do anything for you,Nijimura. How many dates have I canceled so that you can attend practice? How many hours have I wasted so that I can send you texts just so you can ignore it? How many insults have I endured to stand up for you when they were talking behind your back? I never ask anything from you."

You walked away with his head hung low.

"It's the only thing I ask for,Nijimura" you said and left
