Although I have never really been bothered by celebrities and fame, I have to admit the red carpet looks amazing. People keep pushing infront of me so I have to stand on my tip toes to be able to see.
I'm just about to try and move to the front of the barrier when I hear the crowd scream.
"There she is! Louise! Louise, hey!" I hear a person in front of me scream.
I push to the front and I see a tall lady, in a black sparkly dress and high heels walk down the carpet, smiling for the cameras and looking around at everyone. I find it hard to believe that my Mum was standing in front of me. There are so many people here. I'm not sure how she will notice me in the crowd. I just stand there gazing at her, I can't believe it.
She goes to sit on a chair with a large table in front of it with pictures for her to sign. I follow as the crowd start walking towards her to line up.
A man, i assume my Mum's bodyguard stands at the side of her making sure people don't push in the line.
I manage to squeeze in the middle of the line. I feel so anxious of what to say and I even think about turning back and running away, but then I think of how long I have waited for this moment. I was finally going to meet my Mum, after all these years.
"Next please." I have been so busy daydreaming that I didn't notice I am next in the line.
"Hello, what is your name?" My Mum asks me. I freeze, I have no idea what to say or how to act. This is my long lost mother standing in front of me.
"Nice to meet you. Your name please?" She asks me again, smiling at me with her rose red lips.
"F...Faye." I stutter.
"Faye Winters." I say to her. I was hoping in my world of imagination that she would look at me and realise I am her daughter and say something like 'Winters? You must be my daughter' and then we would hug and she would ask what I have been doing all these years. But instead, she writes my name and signs under it and hands me a signed photo of her.
"Next please." Her bodyguard calls, trying to move me along.
Stupidly I stand there. I suddenly have no time to say all the things I had planned to say. So instead i pull my phone out of my jacket pocket and place it by Louise Winters hands.
"Call Cam off my phone when you can. Please. I have so much to say, I know you don't know me but all I'm asking id that you please call Cam from there." I say quickly as I look at her and make eye contact. She looks at me with a confused expression and doesn't understand. Then again, why would she? I'm a random person who has just handed ovee my phone to a famous person.
The bodyguard grabs hold of me and pulls me away. Louise still looks confused as she calls up the next person. I can't even imagine what she thinks of me, I can't believe I just froze.
I doubt she will ever want to see me again.Later that day, I sit on the sofa staring into space, when Cam comes into the lounge with a cup of tea for me.
"I can't believe you gave her your phone and asked her to look for my name on there to call! I know the chance of her calling is like me dying my hair anything but pink but you can have my phone to hold if it makes you feel better." Cam hands me her mobile and sits next to me as she starts sipping her tea.
I grasp hold of her phone and hope for a miracle. I know my mother won't phone, she probably thinks I'm a crazy, random fan. But I can't lose hope.
When Cam goes to her room to sleep, I lie anxiously on the sofa and start to fall asleep myself.
I have been asleep for no longer than half an hour when I wake to the sound of Cam's phone ringing, and I sit up straight.
I think it must be one of Cam's friends calling her so I answer it for her.
"Hi, Cam's phone." I say flatly.
"You asked me to call?" A lady's voice on the other end of the phone speaks. A slightly posh english accent. It's my Mum on the phone.
"I'm sorry... for just leaving my phone by you. You must think i'm weird." I say like I'm in a rush. I say it so fast I slurr my words a bit. But I have wasted a lot of time already and there was so much I needed to say.
"I'd like to return it to you. I have a little time between photoshoots tomorrow so I can get my driver to drive me to drop it back." I listen to what she is saying gobsmacked. She wants to come by to where I am. I can't believe it.
I give her Cam's address in a really slow tone of voice so she write's it down correctly, I put down the phone and jump with happiness.
Tomorrow I will be able to say everything I need to say to Lousise Winters. Starting with how she is my mother.
