The taxi ride seems like it's taking me back to England. So much traffic on the journey. I think of what do say when I get there.
'Hi, my friend was kidnapped. I don't know where or how. Help.' but I realise I need to think it through. I can play the voicemail messages she left me to the police.
Suddenly a thought appears in my mind. I didn't have my mums number and I no longer had my friend's phone. What if my mum called my friends phone thinking it was me and the kidnappers did something to Cam. Oh no...
But I guess my mum will be with her family at the hospital, so maybe she won't have time to call me.
'her family' my mind starts to race again. I am her family too, I am her newly found daughter. Only, I didn't realise she already has a family.
The taxi driver pulls up at the side of the road.
"The police station is here, miss." He smiles at me through the mirror. I hand over the fare to him and head towards the police signs.
The street looks so empty at this part of town, I would have never guessed it would be this quiet. I feel a slight breeze on my cheek as I walk through the gate to the police station. I can't help thinking of poor Cam. Who had kidnapped her, and why?
Luckily there's no line for the desk so I pace up to there and get ready to speak.
"Can I help you, Miss?" The officer at the desk says. He wears a uniform, and his shoulder length, brown hair is pulled back into a pony-tail. He looks around my age. Wasn't he too young to be an officer? Then again, I haven't been in this country very long, what do I know.
"Um, yes. My friend left a voicemail message, and I think she's been kidnapped." I say as I pull out my phone so he can listen to the message.
The man looks kind of shocked but then he just smiles politely at me.
"Have you still got the message? I will have a listen, and see what we can do." I hand over my phone to him so he can press the play button, and he listens to it.
"It seems your friend has been taken. I will tell my collegue." The man hands my phone back to me. He has the same polite smile on his face.
"Can't you deal with it? Or are your collegues for back up?" I say it before I can stop myself. Oh how I wish I could rewind time sometimes.
"No, no. I'm a placement officer. This is my work experience. I don't actually deal with major parts, I just go on patrols sometimes. My collegue will try and track where your friend is and I will go with a couple more officers to the location." He says to me again, before he turns away and walks into this little cupboard room.

That makes sense. A placement officer. It feels weird but knowing he is looking into it for me, I feel safe knowing that Cam will be alright. Well, I hope so anyway.
A thought of my mum rushes through my mind. How can she contact me? What if she goes to Cam's place looking for me and she waits there? I have to stop my mind from racing. I need to help Cam right now.

I take a seat in the station and pick up a few magazines which lie next to the sofa and start to pass some time. I wonder how long it will take to find out where Cam is, I'm not sure if I can wait for that long knowing she could be in danger.
