A/N: This is a poem I made back when I was a seventh grader. I found this poem written at the back of my science notebook. It's no good, but.. Let it be?
-trembles- hope you like this... -shot---------------------
I whisper my lone wish to the stars
Thousand of meters from our world apartOikawa looked at the night sky, where the beautiful stars twinkled, intertwining his fingers with yours. You sent him a weak smile, which he had forced to return. He covered his eyes with his free arm, not wanting you to see him cry.
"Tooru?", you asked sweetly.
"Uhh... I'm so overacting. I don't have to cry, right?", he sobbed as he tried to give you a genuine grin.
Oikawa smiled at you as he saw you leaning on his shoulder, with your eyes closed. He stared at the angelic face of yours that he came to love. He finds your sleeping figure adorable, but the fear of your death rudely comes to haunt his formerly peaceful mind.
'My only wish is for my (Y/N)-chan to be healed from her sickness. That's all I'm asking for...'
I didn't know why you left me by myself
Shrouding me with an emotion mere words can't tell"I'm sorry, Sir. We did the best we can..", one of the doctors announced your death with a stoic expression.
"She can't die! Do something! Save her! Please! Do anything! Damn it!", Oikawa begged the doctors frantically as he repeatedly slammed his fists on the hospital chair beside your bed.
The doctors just gave the chestnut haired male a symphatetic gaze.
I cry out in the dark of the night
Wishing I was alright
I fervently asked the moon to console me
But all it did was glimmer weaklyOikawa couldn't muster his courage to even enter the venue of your wake. He knows that the very moment he enters, he's going to instantly break down in tears, embarrassing himself in front of the guests.
He turned towards the moon, looking at it as if would do something to ease the pain inside his heart. He clenched his fists, and allowed the tears he had kept flow from his brown eyes.
'You don't have to leave me, my precious (Y/N)-chan. It hurts, damn it!'
I cry out to the coal black sky
Weeping with all of my might
Letting my sorrows out
With just a single shoutOikawa cannot handle his emotions anymore, so he yelled at nothing in particular to vent out. He fell to his knees, covered his face, and continued to weep as he reminisces your happy moments. He wished that his flashbacks would immediately halt, so he wouldn't have to hurt this much.
I lament for my broken heart
Not knowing how blissfulness would start
I have renounced joy and happiness
To deal with my misery and bitternessAt the night before your burial, Oikawa stood at the doorpost, humming one of your favorite tunes. The male finally found the courage to stay strong, even if you were not by his side anymore. Yes, he knows he can live without you, but it would be tormenting to an awfully high level.
He wished that he could be the same again, but your death prevented him from turning back into his old, jolly self.
The very night when we said our goodbyes
Instantly brought tears into my eyes
Knowing that this is our last encounter
Actually made me feel somberOikawa wept bitterly at the day of your burial, hugging you for the last time as he bid his farewells to the precious gem of his life. Everyone who had gathered at the cemetery clearly understood the pain he felt.
As everybody left one by one, Oikawa stayed beside your grave until the sun set, allowing the moon to rise. By midnight, Iwaizumi went to the cemetery to fetch his best friend, hoping that he might ease the latter's agony, and also, the ace was concerned for his friend's health. Oikawa didn't even know that he stayed with you for hours.
"Trashykawa, let's go home." Iwaizumi spoke.
"Let me stay a little bit longer, Iwa-chan."
Iwaizumi heaved an audible sigh as he shook his head in response to Oikawa's statement. The ace's hazel orbs were filled with compassion, seeing his sullen friend.
"Let the gloomy night testify my heart breaking sentiments
Let the alluring moon witness my hurtful regrets
Let the shining stars comfort my weeping heart
Let the night be a reminder on how I fell apart."Oikawa wailed as he uttered the silent screams of his shattered heart.
