CHAPTER 21: SPARK

A couple uneventful weeks had passed and still people hadn't given up on pestering me for information about my amnesia and knowledge of Kim Hyun Joong.

'Can you seriously not remember him?'

'Is amnesia weird?'

'Do you think this will perk your memory of him?'

It was extremely frustrating and I was on the edge of ripping my hair from my scalp and gouging my eyeballs from their sockets.

It didn't help that Yunho's words rang through my head over and over again. He sang them so sweetly and lovingly. I quickly shook the thought of him out of my head, what was I thinking?

Fortunately, the doctor sawed that stupid cast from my leg but I still hobbled slightly - it turned out it healed faster than they thought it would. I dragged myself out of my most comfortable bed and slipped out of my white tank top and shorts into some denim leggings and a lacy, v-neck top. Checking my vanity mirror, I decided I can go without make-up for the day since I couldn't be stuffed. I picked up my iPhone and dialed Taemin.

"Hello?" answered quizzically the sweet voice of Taemin.

"Taemin! It's me, Joon Seo Yeon," I said cheerily grabbing a ripe banana from the fruit bowl. Balancing the phone in between my ear and shoulder, I began to peel the yellow skin from the flesh.

"Oh! Seo Yeon, I was just about to call you!" he said with excitement.

I blushed and took a bite of he banana, "could we meet up at Qing's Place?"

"That's perfect," he said, "see you there."

"Bye," I smiled and the line dropped. I devoured the rest of my banana, chucking the peel in the bin and walked out my apartment door to meet Lee Taemin.

As I stood in the red-framed entrance of Qing's Palace, I searched the busy room for Taemin but he was no where in sight. I took another scan of the room but Taemin was definitely not here yet.

"Table for two, please," I smiled sweetly to the man at the door. He simply nodded politely and led me to an empty two-seat table.

Looking around eagerly, I tapped my nails onto the table and my chin resting on my palm. A waiter came to serve me and I just ordered a tall glass of sparkling water. The time on my watch said ten past eleven, I'd been waiting there for ten minutes. This was not like the courteous Taemin, why was he so late?

When I heard the sliding of the automatic doors and the outside breeze blowing into the restuarant, my head snapped up hoping to see Taemin. Unfortunately, it was not him. Instead appeared a new looking Kim Hyun Joong at the doorway. Even under the scarf, shades and beanie, I could tell something had changed. He was probably here to meet someone because he searched around the room eagerly.
