Charmed: Book One

Chapter Two:

"Mhmmm....... Usagi, I love you.." " I-I- I love you...." "Usagi......Usagi!" I woke up with a jolt. I wiped my dreary eyes and looked over at Abra, who woke me up. "Kiddo, you better get going if you want to make a good impression today," he said. I jumped out of my bed and ran to my closet. I grabbed my uniform that was assigned to me a week earlier and pulled up my hair into a ponytail. "Hey, knock 'em dead kid, ok?" I smiled, "I'll try!" I ran downstairs and grabbed an orange to eat while I waited for the bus.
I stood outside for about twenty minutes when I finally saw the yellow monster pull up to my driveway. I clutched my bag close to me and plopped down in the first seat. The doors closed and I looked out the window until the next stop, where a trio of fairies bordered the bus. I reached in my bag and grabbed my phone and earbuds and listened to my favorite podcast, Cupid's Arrow. "Hello my sweethearts! Welcome back to Cupid's Arrow! As always it's me, Anmiè bringing you the best advice on relationships!" Her voice was smooth, like an icy breeze. I listened to her until we finally reached Ravenwood.
The driver opened the doors and I quickly exited the vehicle. I took out my earbuds and put my phone away. I looked up at the school. It was a huge, castle like building with millions....no, billions of magical beings! Mermaids, Goblins, and Dwarves gathered around the entrance. "You could fit the entire Solar System in here...." I scavenged through my bag looking for my campus map to get me to my first class. "Oh, how do you read these damn things?!? It's like a labyrinth in here!" I glanced to the left and saw a tiny creek. "Maybe it'll be easier to sit down and sort this puzzle out" I gathered myself together and made my way over to the creek. "Sapphire Creek? That sounds calm."
I walked over to a small wooden bench and see a girl elegantly dancing next to the water. "Hm hmm hmm hmm hm hm hm...." She hummed. Her feet were moving perfectly, as if she were a ballerina. "E-excuse me..." She stopped dancing and looked at me. Her dirty blonde hair was curled and her eyes reminded me of the ocean. "Yes?" she said, her head cocked to the left slightly. "Well you see, I-I'm new and would greatly appreciate help around the school, and--" She giggled. "You're new? What creature are you?" "I speak to animals," I replied shyly. "Really? That's so cool! I'm a water witch! I'm assuming you're a witch too. Want to see some of my magic? By the way, my name is Elizi!" "I'm Usagi, and I'd love to see water magic for once!" Elizi stood by the creeks edge, her eyes closed. She continued to hum and slowly moves her hands with the rhythm. The water started to move with her in unison, as if they were one being. She stopped her hum and placed the water back into the creek gently. I clapped my hands as she bowed before me. "Now let's see about that map!"
"So if you have Mrs. Weiss for Spell Making, then that means--" Elizi's explanation was cut off by a phone buzz. "Sorry, may I take this really quick?" "Sure," I replied, sitting back down on the bench. Elizi came back soon and sat next to me. "My friends and I usually go to Cafè Firefly at this time. Want to join us?" "Really? Ok!" "After all, you are a bit early,"Elizi said, motioning me to follow her to the cafè.
"This place looks so refined! Are you sure this is a cafè?" I said, looking up at the building in front of me. The pathway was lined with purple flowers, leading up to an archway at the entrance. The building itself was very modern, with stained black Windows and a dark wood floor. "Elizi!! Over here! We saved you a seat," said a two girls. Elizi and I sat down at the booth with them. "Oh my gosh Elizi, 5PoM is going on tour!! And they're passing through here," one girl screamed. "That's Harmony, your typical fangirl," Elizi whispered in my ear. Her hair was brown and loose, and she wore musical jewelry. "What's....5PoM," I asked. Harmony's jaw dropped. "5 POTIONS OF MAGIC, DUH!!! HAVEN'T YOU HEARD THEIR HIT SONG SPELLCASTER?!?!" "Well, I uh...."
"Shhh, love calm down. You're scaring the poor thing," said a girl on the left of Harmony. Her hair was long and dark brown, and she wore heart shaped jewelry. "That voice.......I've heard it before somewhere!" "Sweetheart, are you ok? Sorry for Harmony's outburst, she's a die hard 5PoM fan. I'm Anmiè!" "Anmiè......That's it! "Are you Anmiè from-" "Cupid's Arrow? Yep! Do you need advice?" "N-No, I'm good. Thanks for the offer though." Telling them I was single would be too embarrassing to bear, so I kept it to myself. "Anytime sweetheart!" "Harmony, Anmiè, this is Usagi. She's an animal witch," said Elizi. We talked for about ten minutes until we parted ways. "Bye girls!" Elizi said, guiding me to the entrance of Ravenwood. "Ready to enter?" I looked at her and hesitantly shook my head yes. She grabbed my hand and we walked through the front door together.
