"Now servant, take me to where your heart desires!" Kayla exclaimed excitedly as Brenton turned on the ignition of his Ford Ranger. The vehicle purred finely as he pressed on the accelerator.
As Brenton drove, every now and then he would steal a glance at Kayla who was still shaking in excitement. He chuckled at the sight. He was rather proud of himself of having the courage earlier to fetch her during her last class, though it doesn't seem to be as different as taking her to her class. But Brenton never did imagine that one day he would do these kind of things to a girl. He was all punches and kicks, not love and dates.
Benton's eyes widened in realization. Why the fuck did he mention about love and dates? They weren't in love nor going on a date. Are they? He doesn't even know if they were friends.
Generally, he wasn't the type to give a damn about others except Kayla but what caught his attention at school was that the glaring and whispers have grown worse. His gut was telling him that it was deep trouble but he silently hoped that it wasn't anything serious. What did he do the past week? He didn't even lay a single punch on someone since most of the time he was with Kayla.
Brenton furiously blushed at the thought. It was a fact that he was like a dog clinging to its master these days. There were days that he wasn't able to spend lunch or take Kayla to her next class but nevertheless, he still looked like a loyal dog following Kayla all around. He wasn't her boyfriend, that's true.
Why am I thinking about her again?
Not just that he was like a weird stalker around Kayla, but his listening skills in class is getting worse by the second. His mind is always clouded by Kayla and her smile, movements, and the way she makes him feel hot and heavy.
Jesus, Abrams! She's right next to you, idiot.
As he felt Kayla's hand on his arm, he choked and almost lost grip on the wheel. Brenton slowed down as he diverted his eyes to Kayla with furrowed brows.
"Are you okay?" Kayla asked with concern laced in her voice. "You were shocked at first then turned beet red the next second."
"I'm fine." He replied in assurance though inside of him he was screaming as hell when Kayla's skin made contact with his.
Brenton pressed on the brakes as the car slowed down near a cafe where Kayla was not familiar with. He found a vacant area where he parked his exquisite vehicle.
As Brenton sped out the driver's seat to open Kayla's door, he was left disappointed when he realized that she already had went out from the car.
"What?" Kayla asked when she found Brenton staring at her.
Brenton shook his head indicating that there was nothing wrong as he tried not to etch a frown on his features. With a courageous sigh, he grabbed hold of Kayla's hand feeling sparks running through his veins as he made his way to the cafe dragging Kayla along.
As they went in, there were only a few people buzzing which Brenton was glad of.
Both of them skidded their way to a vacant table near a glass wall.Brenton hesitantly let go of Kayla's hand, already missing their shared warmth. Both of them sat on each side making them face each other.
"Brenton, where are we?" Kayla finally asked.
A smirk made its way on Brenton's lips. "You'll see." He winked at her which caused Kayla to roll her eyes at him.
A waiter soon approached them holding two menus on one hand. He gave each one to Brenton and Kayla. Brenton held and opened his menu pretending to skim through the items as his eyes were darted to Kayla whose face was plastered with a mixed emotion of shock and joy.
