Chapter 22 (My Hero)

"First we need to come up with an excuse so Dalton won't worry." I said to Will as we began walking out to his car.

"I could text him and tell him we went to go pick up dinner."

"Yeah that works."

Will pulled out his phone and I watched him send the text. The he started the car. I laughed a little because when the radio turned on it began playing single ladies. Any guy I ever knew would've turned it off and pretended they didn't listen to it, but Will just started dancing. I was only scared because when it got to "all the single ladies put your hand up", he took his hands of the wheel for a brief moment.

"So where does this little snake live?"

I gave him directions one turn at a time until before you knew it we were there.

"So what now?" Will asked.

"I think I go inside."

"Well I should probably actually get dinner. I'll come right back after I get the food."

"Okay sounds great. Thanks Will."

"Don't thank me until you get the car back."

"This is true." I smiled and hoped out of the car. Will drove away and I walked up to the door. I noticed that only Alex's car was there. That made me feel better. It would be a bit weird discussing this in front of his parents.

I walked up to the door and rung the bell, but before it even finished its ding the door was opened. Alex was standing in front of me. I could still see that his eye was swollen a little. It must have been from Dalton's visit.

"I knew you'd come here eventually." Alex smiled and moved to let me in the house. He close the door behind us. The lighting was very dim but he had probably been in his room.

"Not like you gave me much choice."

"I guess your right." He said and I walked up leaning against the wall.

"Look Alex just say what you need to say and tell me where Dalton's car is."

"What would I need to say?"

"I don't know your dumb apologies that I won't accept."

He just laughed. "Mind taking this conversation upstairs? I left my music playing."

"Whatever makes you happy."

We started walking up the stairs and when we reach his room he closed his laptop and began walking behind me. He closed the door and then walked over to the window and looked behind his curtain. "Your little boyfriend didn't come with you did he?"

"No he didn't He would've stopped me."

"Well let's be glad he didn't."

"What are you doing Alex? Just tell me where the car is? I know you you just want to say whatever it is you need to. That's is why you wanted me to come." I breathed for a moment and then looked back up at him. "Isn't it?"

He shook his head once again laughing. "No. But you were right about one thing."

"What's that?" I asked backing toward the door. Just as I reached it Alex put his hand on my shoulders pinning me against the wall.

"I am very sorry." He began trying to unbutton my flannel.

"What the hell?" I attempted to push him back but he had too strong of a grip on my arms. I was kicking him, but he quickly recovered each time. Fast enough for me not to get to the door again. He pushed me back onto his bed with his hands once again pinning me to the bed. By this time I was screaming and bawling.

" I just want you back.Ellie cheating on you was the biggest mistake I ever made." The door opened and Alex quickly turned around. I could barely see through my watery eye but soon enough Alex was shoved off of me. I couldn't believe it but I saw Dalton.

"No actually this is the biggest mistake you've ever made." Dalton said. Alex was on the ground against the wall. "Where the f*ck is my car?"

Alex didn't say anything.

Dalton punched him in the stomach. "Tell or I'll call the police. I'm sure they would love to take you away for not only stealing a car, but also an attempt at rape!"

"It wouldn't have been rape she is my girlfriend."

Dalton punched him again. "No she is not. She is MY girlfriend and if you ever try to touch her again I will personally kill you. Now tell me where my car is."

Alex got up but Dalton kept a close eye on him. He went over to his desk and got a paper and a pencil. He began writing what I assumed was the address.

"Here." Alex handed the note card to Dalton. "Now you and your bitch of a girlfriend get out of my house."

Dalton punched him one last time, I suppose for calling me a bitch. Then Dalton came and picked me up and carried me out of the house and lay me in the backseat of Will's car.

Dalton just held me for a bit until I stopped crying.

"How did you-" I started to say.

Will interrupted "You didn't honestly think I was going to let you go without Dalton knowing. I went and picked him up right after I left here."

I leaned forward into the front seat to hug Will. "Thank you so much. If you would've showed up 5 minutes later things would've gotten bad. He was starting to go insane. I was actually scared he might have killed me."

"But you are safe now." Dalton smiled at me.

"Thanks to you."

"Let's get out of here." Will laughed.

"Agreed." I said.

"Now, how about this dinner I was promised?" Dalton said and we all laughed.
