Falling for Dalton Rapattoni

Chapter 14 (Confessions)

"I know this might be a bad time but" Dalton paused for a moment.

"What is it?"

"I love you Ellie."

"What?"

"Ever since you moved here you've been nothing but amazing. It was hard watching you talk about Alex but I still wanted to be in your life. I settled for being your best friend. Now seeing that d*ck treat you like that makes me realize that I want to be more than your friend. Ellie I would never hurt you like Alex did and I know you might not want to trust me after what you just went through but"

And then dove toward him and kissed him. After a few seconds I pulled back. "I trust you and I love you too. "

"Wow. That was fast."

"I mean just look at what you've done for me already. The only reason I hadn't talked to you about this is because I thought I loved Alex. Now I know that I was wrong about that. You're one of the if not the greatest guy I've ever met."

"I'm so glad to hear you say that." 

I looked over at the clock and realized that between dinner, watching tv and spilling our hearts out the time really went by fast. It was already 2 in the morning. "I getting really tired. So I think I'm going to sleep."

"I won't be far behind you."

Since we got the cheapest room there is we only had one bed which wouldn't have been a problem even before tonight. So I climbed into the left side and he the right. 

"I can tell that you are cold from here." Dalton said as he pulled me over to him and I laid my head on his chest. I already felt warmer.

A long moment of silence happened before either of us said anything else. But I spoke up since I was curious about one particular thing. "Dalton?"

"Yes Ellie?"

"Does this mean our 'adventure' is over?"

"It's only just begun."

It's amazing how incredibly easy it was for me to fall asleep in his arms.
