I took off immediately after telling my mother, leaving my completely dead phone at home. I was taking my sweet time walking as I was in no hurry to get back to my dumpster fire of a home life at the moment.

I had been walking for about 15 minutes when I reached the coffee shop "Cool Beans". I put my hand on the door knob and as I walked in a cute little bell rang. When it did the 5 people in there all looked up at me.

There were two teenage girls and one boy at a table very close to the door that looked a little younger than me. They were laughing with each other and barely noticed my entrance. Then there was the girl behind the counter whose name tag read "Emily". She sweetly smiled at me as I walked in. Also there was a guy oddly sitting in the back by himself. He was wearing all black and had a gold necklace on.

I walked up and began to talk to the girl at the counter. "Hey." I quietly said. "Sorry that was awkward. Um.... What would you recommend me ordering?"

"You mean you've never been here? Now I'm just offended." She laughed and I could tell that she was being sarcastic.

I joined her with a slight laugh a said. "Yeah I just moved here. And I couldn't take any more of my bickering family."

She laughed at that and responded, "I'll get you a watermelon coconut limeade. If that sounds alright?"

"Sounds amazing." I say still laughing. I stand there waiting and watching her make the drink. Then as she comes back to exchange the drink for my money the guy from the back of the room suddenly appears next to me.

"I've got this one." He says and give Emily the money for my drink.

"What do you mean? I don't even know you." I raise my eyebrows as I look up at him. He was just enough taller than me that I actually had to look up.

"Yes but your wearing a Blue October shirt, so I have to get to know you somehow. Why not buy you a drink?" He smiled and I started to laugh. My first thought of course was to mention that I'm taken, but I shouldn't jump to conclusions.

"Okay fine then I said." As I took the drink from Emily. "Thank you." He gestured to a nearby table and the two of us sat down and began our conversation.

As I got closer to him I could tell that he was wearing eyeliner which was pretty cool if you ask me. "So kind stranger? What is your name?" I ask him.

"Dalton Louis Rapattoni." He gave a little eye role when he said Louis.

"That's cute. Mines Ellie Flynn."

"Wow I do the honor of giving you my middle name and you can't even return the favor? I'm just insulted now." His sense of humor was very similar to mine.

"Well it's Ann. And my name is actually Ellen."

"Like Degeneres?"

"Yep. But I've never gone by Ellen it's always been Ellie."

"Interesting. And how old are you Miss Ellie?"

"I'm 17. I'm going to be a senior this year."

"Same here. You go to school here?"

"Well I will now. I just moved here."

"That's amazing! Guess I get to show you around then."

It was amazing we just kept talking about the littlest things. Before we knew it the other in the shop had left and it was just us and Emily was somewhere in the back. It had also began to get a little late and I told Dalton I should probably be heading home.

"Let me walk you home." He said as we stepped outside.

"Man, your really wanting to prove you're a gentleman."

"I mean I do what I do."

We started walking and when stop I said "well here it is."

"You're kidding right?"

"What is sometime wrong?"

"No actually the opposite. I live right next door!"

We stood there in silence for just a brief moment before we both started laughing.

"Well I guess I'll be seeing a lot of you then." He said. "What's your number?"

I wrote it down on his wrist. "If I don't respond right away sorry. But we are still unpacking and I don't have my phone charger."

"What phone do you have?"

"iPhone 5 s"

"Here come with me. I have an extra one."

He stepped inside his house as I stood on his porch.

"Here"

"Sweet! And I'll be sure to return it as soon as I find mine."

"No hurry. I'll be looking forward to seeing you again."

I smiled and walked inside my house. At first I wondered if I was going to like it here. But now I was sure.
