"Naturally, the eye color of a person is normally, brown, hazel, grey, and blue. Every other color, not so much.
There are certain things that you shouldn't do to your eyes. Stare into the sun, rub your eyes with filthy hands, poke your eye, et cetera.
The eye is the organ of vision." My science teacher started explaining about the eyeball.
Oh dear God.. I hate this.. Eyes are disgusting. Especially mine. I can't even explain how much I hate them. Oh no.. The teacher is looking my way. Look down. Look down you idiot!
Ugh.. too late. He called on me. "Ms. Crimson. Can you please take off those sunglasses? It is highly disrespectful." He said and went on to the lecture. Oh no. I can't take them off, the other students will make fun of me!
I take them off and take my hands to my temples, as if I have a headache. I look down at my desk and listen to the lecture. Concentrate on one color, one color. I should've put on my contacts.
There are ten more minutes till the bell rings. I can make it! "The dominant genes take over the recessive. Now, if I were to show you some diagrams of the eyes right here on the monitor." He started, clicking on a remote. "Can one of you please come up here and help me turn this darn thing on? I'm not so good with technology, haha!"
Please don't pick on me. Someone go volunteer. Go. Go! "Ms. Crimson." He called. Oh goodness no. I kept my head down and and looked at no one. I closed my eyes and made my way to the front desk.
I helped him turn it on and program the slide show he was supposed to show us on the screen. All done with my eyes closed. I know this school inside and out. I think I can do this with my eyes closed. I make it to my seat and open my eyes partially. It's too bright outside.
"Thank you, Mazarine." I only nod and look down at my desk. I cover my eyes and squint at the clock just above the board. Only eight minutes left. Good.
The lights darken and the slides start while Mr. Blodwedd explaining the slides. No one can see my eyes. Great. I actually sit up for a little bit and lower my hands from my face. Five minutes. Alright, I can do this.
It's not bright, but it seems like it's sunny out to me. Is that weird? I can see perfectly in the darkness.
The girl three desks away from me fixing her headband. The boy behind me is picking at his teeth with his fingers. Ew. I turn my attention to the monitor again. The teacher is heading to the light switch. Now's my cue. Only 53 seconds left.
As he flicks it on, I slip my shades on over my eyes. "Well, that's all for today class. Have a nice summer." Oh that's right. Today was the last day of school. I was so caught up in focusing on my eyes, that I forgot that I wouldn't need to bother about it for the summer.
He opened the blinds and the other teens rushed out of the door. I was the last one to get to the doorframe. "Oh, Mazarine?" Mr. Blodwedd said. I turned, nervously rubbing my arm. "Hm?"
His brunette hair was swept aside by his hand. "I have a letter for you." He said, handing me a letter. It was white was scrawled on with olive ink.
Marazine Crimson.
