After the intense game of capture the flag, the next few days were quite simple. The walls surrounding the camp sprouted out a few more gates to get into. The East gate opened up to a gymnasium with different kinds sports and court all around.
The South opened up to the forest and greenhouses, while the garden was in the main part of the campus. On the West gate there were miscellaneous booths, kiosks, and tables that held food, activities, and talent presentations of campers.
In the North, the gate is locked from the inside out. Midori and Cal have both tried to see what's inside by looking through the bars, but they couldn't see much. Only a few white buildings.
Today the kids were in their cabin; it was too hot to go outside and the gymnasium's pool was already too crowded. Since the last few days, Cal has gotten so used to the rest of his fellow campers. Deciding that he'll never see them again when his time at camp is over, he might as well try and be as brave as he can. And by that, he trained himself to not stutter.
It was incredibly hard, but he felt that he could manage it for the most part. He'll keep up a facade for a while, that he's just a sarcastic and reckless guy who likes to draw, but is only shy when he meets new people. Although, he knew that's not how he really was.
Cal was explaining to Jasper what a Candlewick 7 was on the couch. Timmy was sitting on the dining table with a variety of tools, nuts, and bolts. A grey, metallic toy in front of him.
Angel was next to him, listening to music. Marazine was finishing up the series P.A.T.R.I.O.T. and Midori sat outside, enjoying the sun.
"Okay, so it's pretty simple." Cal said, holding up Marazine's Candlewick tablet. "I don't know where the heck you've been, but all you need to do is touch the screen."
Jasper was mesmerized. He opened and closed the App Store repeatedly. Marazine looked over at them. "I swear, if you break it--" "We're not going to break it." said Cal. Marazine rolled her eyes and continued watching.
Knock, knock.
"I'll get it." Cal said, getting up and walking to the door. Once he opened it, a familiar face followed. "Hi, Cal-san." Momoko smiled, walking in. "Uh, h-hi. What's up?" Cal watched her. She sat down next to Jasper and crossed her legs. "Nothing much."
"What are you watching, Marzie?" Momoko asked. "P.A.T.R.I.O.T." She replied without looking up from the screen. Cal sat next to Momoko. "What's that?" She asked Cal. Cal sighed, "It's an eight season show about people who were deserted in an island after their plane crashing in the Bermuda Triangle. It's pretty crazy actually. Like Marazine." He whispered the last part.
Marazine laughed mockingly. "Excuse me, but at least I'm not weeaboo trash." Cal shrugged, "She's right. I am weeaboo trash."
Timmy stood up, taking off his goggles and his leather gloves. "Done." Jasper looked up from the tablet. "And what exactly is that?"
Timmy stood up proudly, holding a small remote. A grey, robotic ferret rose up from the table. It stretched and sat. "I introduce you, the Mechanical Adamantine Reliable Sable Hyper-powered Animal." Marazine and Cal looked at each other, then at him.
"You just made that up, didn't you?" Cal questioned. Timmy grunted, "Well, yes, but I can guarantee Marsha will work."
"Marsha? What kind of name is Marsha?" Jasper asked, raising a brow at him. Timmy covered the ferret's ears. "Shh, don't be mean. She was just born today." He picked it up and it squirmed like an actual ferret.
"That's not going to blow up on us again, right?" Cal nagged, a little worrisome. "Shut it, Flavian. That was just yesterday. Plus, that was a prototype. This is the real deal, my boy!"
