Chapter 14

It seemed like everyone down south enjoyed fine woman, cars, food, and body art. I noticed that every since I moved here.

It's been a month now, and so far I was enjoying my new move. Everyone seemed friendly to me which made it easy for me to make a friend. I still didn't trust anyone.

Saundra, my new friend from ATL came strutting back from answering my door. We were in the living room watching movies having 'Girl time' as she put it. I met her at the mall, the huge gap in my closet was really bugging me so I decided to get more new clothes to try and help. It wasn't a huge success because I still had a lot of space and I was on a budget. The move was expensive and almost broke my bank, I thank my lucky stars Cindy got me a job before I even move up here.

"Damn, every time I come over here you get some damn flowers". She made a face and walked to this kitchen. I followed behind with the glass vases that had previous flowers from yesterday. John sends flowers to my house everyday, asking for a date in a few cards, or even a simple talk on my front porch. I always denied the request but I made sure to thank him whenever I see him.

"You need to talk to him". She said looking at the card then throwing it away. We replaced yesterday's flowers with the new ones and threw away the old ones.

"I talk to him everyday". We walked back to the living room. "I say thank you and we go about our day".

"You know what I mean smart ass. He been trying to talk to you for how long?". Saundra sighed and sat next to me. She caressed my hand and looked at me but I wasn't looking at her. She was very persuasive in a lot of ways. "Just try talking to him and see where it leads".

I thought about it, I bit my lip and twirled my dreads around. "Alright". Saundra immediately got excited. "But I don't like it don't ask me to do shit else". I gave her a stern look.

She put her hands up as if she got caught doing something bad. "Hey, I just want you to try".

"Cindy I'm here". I was in my car watching John talk with a friend.

"Girl relax. I told you I did my homework on him! He's straight as my blonde hair. Have fun, you deserve it".

"And MJ?". MJ is Mavericks son.

"He's in New York right now. My connect it starting to figure out why. Don't worry Mya. We will get him".

I signed and closed my eyes. When I opened them, John was staring at me, he looked concerned. "Alright. By Cindy". I hung up the phone and climbed out the car.

Dirt was everywhere and the ground was rocky in some places. When I looked out, all I seen was dirt and hills.

I walked over to John and stood beside him taking in the setting. The suit I wore was sticking to me, I couldn't take anything off because it was all protective gear.

" You ready to ride some dirt bikes?". He handed me a pink helmet and helped me put it on.

"Yea". I let him adjust the helmet and I did the same when he was finish. John and two other men from our neighborhood started unloading four dirt bikes unto the dirt. Two woman sat on the trunk of one car chatting and drinking beer.

Every so often they would turn and look in my direction whenever john checked my knee pads or anything else that protected me. It was amusing, I could feel the jealousy. If they wanted him they could have him, I wasn't in their way.

I brushed it off and let John help me unto my bike. I was gonna enjoy this.

"Who knew you would be so good". John commented. We were all at a family restaurant in downtown Atlanta chatting about our previous adventure with the dirt bikes.

"I know. And I never done it before. I'm surprised myself". I took a sip of my water.

"Are you sure your not hungry?". One of Johns friends asked this. Everyone was eating except me.

"I'm fine".

"Try this". One of them gave me a piece of their rib. I denied but thanked him for his offer. I honestly just wanted to go home and think about my day. It was truly amazing
