Kids VS. Wolves

New Girl

The whole Newberry town heard about what happened to Jasper and Mackenzie. When they finally arrived at Mackenzie's house, Mackenzie's dad called the police. The police didn't really believe the story at first since they are a "crime free" town. However, when they saw Jasper's scars and bruises they believed them.

The next day was a frenzy. People kept asking questions about it and others wanted to hang with them more. The two hoped it will be different at school because they really needed a break.

"Hi Boston, hey London", says Charlie. Boston looks at him all dreamy because he said her name first and she had a crush on him since second grade. 

"Hiiii, Charlie," Boston replied flipping her hair back. 

"Yeah, 'hi' Charlie. Did you hear about..." She is interrupted by Jasper saying hello and Charlie turns his attention toward him. Then they started  to do their "ultimate handshake".

First they slap the front of their hand then the back together. Next they make fists and bump the bottom and top of it then they bump fists and blow it up. After they do a high five but miss and does it behind them close to the floor. It ends with them turning, crossing their arms, nodding their heads and saying "Sup".

 After Charlie broke out into the same questions people asked Jasper. Except he doesn't know what happened since he doesn't socialize online. So he can sometimes be known as the clueless one.

"Oh, no one told you?", Jasper asks gesturing a confused expression to London. 

She looked at him annoyed. "I was about to until someone interrupted me."

"Well, you can just tell me later", Charlie said wondering when that was.

"So, Charlie",  Boston said now out of her daze. "What did you do over the week- Are you okay?", she asked waving her hand in his face. 

"What is he looking at", Jasper asks and tries to see.

Whoa!", he finally responded. "Who. Is. That?" London finally saw what he was talking about, a girl who was looking at her schedule, and rolled her eyes. 

"That's the new girl, Skai." Charlie realized he was staring, and drooling. 

He wiped his mouth, straightened his clothes, fixed his hair and said, " I'm going to go talk to her".

He swaggered over to her, gave her his best charming smile and said, "Sup! I'm Charlie." Skai looked up from her schedule and smiled back. 

"Hi, I'm Skai! And as you can probably tell, new here."

 Charlie's smiled widened. "Well, all of us were new here at one point. Except the sixth graders. They are new to a middle school all together."
Skai giggled. "I guess that is kind of the same to me, although I came pretty late. Since I'm in 8th."

Charlie tapped his chin until he got an idea. "How about you show me your schedule an maybe I can help you with that." Skai nodded and handed it over and Charlie looked at it. "We have about almost every class except you have Research class for 6th period and I don't."

The bell rang.

They both had to go to math. On the way they talked about Charlie's friends. "What are they like?", Skai asked.

"Unique", Charlie replied while opening the door to the classroom. "In a weird kind of way."
