Charlie hears the bus honking and races out the door. He runs toward the bus but was stopped by a rustling in the bushes. "Who's there", Charlie asks, ready for combat. "Don't make me ask again." The bus' shudder doors close and drives off.

"Great! That is just great. I missed the bus because of some stupid bushes and now I have to walk, then I'll definitely be late!", he said kicking a rock.

He heard a noise from the bushes again, but this time it was growling. He leaned in for a closer look to see glowing eyes staring back at him. The thing then lunges at him with large, sharp canines and snaps at him. "Aaaaaaaaahhhh", he screamed very high pitched.

He runs away at a fast speed and gets to school just in time for the buses to come. Definitely out of breath, he falls over but Skai catches him at the right moment. "Thanks for that", said Charlie.

"Your welcome", she replied helping him stand up straight. "And I didn't know you could run that fast. I saw you down the block one second, I look away and here you are another. Have you ever thought of trying out for the track team?"

"Yeah, I heard that people run faster when running away from something that frightened them or that they are scared of", Charlie said.

Skai looked at him with a confused look. "You were running away from something?"

Charlie nods. "I think it was rabies infested creature that wanted a piece of this." He shows her himself. Skai laughs.

"Well I guess we better get inside before we both be late", said Skai. Then they both walked into the school.

They both went separate ways to their lockers. Charlie is putting his stuff away when a girl with blonde hair, freckles and a bandana walks up to him. "Hi, Charlie!", she said.

"Hey Nina", he replied trying to hurry up and get his supplies.

"I've got a favor to ask you. My math teacher recommends that I get a tutor. She did want Kayla to do it, but I think she is too stuck up and only cares about herself. Besides, you remember the last time we worked together."

Charlie flashed back to the time Nina and Kayla worked together in sixth grade for a science project. They argued too much about what liquids to put in. Kayla just put some chemicals together which shook the table and blew up.

"Charlie? Charlie? Heeellloo, Earth to Charlie", she said shaking him so hard his glasses fell off. Finally she got his attention and asked, "So... will you do it?" Charlie smiled.

"Sure."
