I hummed softly as I typed up the final words of my report, pushing my reading glasses up my nose as pressed the final key triumphantly. This particular report had taken an obscene amount of time to write and I was more than relieved to have it finally completed.
Smiling in satisfaction, I attached the report to an email to Eli and pressed send with a wide grin on my face. My arrogant happiness was soon diminished when I turned to see the mountain of paperwork which had piled up on my desk.
It turned out having Connor home from tour was a huge distraction. Although, seeing my boyfriend on a regular basis was great for my sex life, it only served to further distract me from my work. Ever since our tryst in my office the week before, I had spent every moment at work imagining what it would be like for him to fuck me on every flat surface I saw.
It seemed Connor had turned me into some sort of sexual deviant. Though, to be fair, he didn't seem to mind when Sophie was asleep and I would beg him to take me on the kitchen table.
Blushing at the memory, I busied myself with the paperwork, chewing on the end of a pen as I read steadily through new client contracts, circling grammatical errors and subtleties which needed to be changed.
"Now, that's just not fair."
The deep, gravelly voice caused me to freeze, my pen dropping from its perch in my mouth, thudding softly as it hit the wood desk. The sudden noise forced to me to look up to find Connor's long form leaning casually against the doorway.
"You can't dress like a sexy librarian and not expect me to want to take you on that desk," he smirked, crossing his arms and causing his biceps to tense against the sleeves of his pea coat.
Gulping to return my breathing to normal, I smiled brightly at him. "Hey! What are you doing here? We don't have a meeting today."
"I know," he nodded as he pushed himself from the doorway, coming to stand in front of my desk. "I'm kidnapping you."
I raised my eyebrows, curious as to his plans. "Oh really? Where are we going, may I ask?"
His lips lifted in an amused smirk as his eyes twinkled with mischief. "It's a surprise. Come on, grab your coat and let's go."
To be honest, I knew I shouldn't go. I had a pile of paperwork still needing to be scoured and I was behind as it were. But this was Connor. Even after a year of being together, he still found ways to surprise me every day and I would be damned if I would let my work ruin what could be an unforgettable day.
Smiling, I let out a mockingly reluctant sigh. "Fine. Give me a second."
He nodded as he waited for me to shrug on my jacket before intertwining our fingers and pulling me out the door.
We walked aimlessly through the streets of London, or so it seemed, chatting happily as we wandered in and out of various shops. Connor pulled me through vintage stores, laughing hysterically as we tried on ridiculous outfits.
Finally, after what seemed like hours of goofing around, he covered my eyes with his hands and instructed me to trust him.
I did so without hesitation, unable to keep the smile off my face as he guided me towards our undisclosed location. After a few minutes of his chest pressing into my back as he led me blindly, we stopped.
"Are you ready?" he asked, his voice low as he whispered in my ear.
I gulped nervously, unsure of what to expect. "Yes."
