"What is that?" Daryl asked as I scribbled in my notebook and I looked up at him. I'd been sitting with him for most of the afternoon, and Daryl had slowly started to become comfortable with my presence. "It's just a random sketch, nothing in particular." I stated softly and he shook his head. "No, I mean the bruise on yer cheek, what is it from?" I let out a shaky breath biting my lip as I averted my gaze to the floor.

"He did that...didn't he?" I gave him a simple nod in reply, as his jaw clenched. "Why?" he pressed, and I felt my eyes sting with tears but quickly blinked them away. "I was late for...he was expecting me last night." I replied softly, unable to speak louder in fear my voice would crack.

I looked to his shoulder, satisfied with my handy work, before meeting his gaze. "Does it feel better?" I asked changing the subject, and with a sigh he nodded. "A little bit." he mumbled, and I couldn't help but take in his appearance.

He had long, messy dark hair, with a little scruff on his chin and piercing blue eyes. He was definitely attractive, more so to me since it didn't look like he knew. I blinked a few times when he spoke my name, his voice pulling me from my thoughts. "Hm, what?" I asked looking into his eyes, and he scoffed. "Do you fuck him or somethin'?" I frowned and looked away. "I don't know what you're-"

"I can see the hickey," he stated quickly, interrupting my lie and I reached and hand up to cover the mark on my shoulder. "Okay fine, yes. I do...but it's not because I necessarily want to." I said the last part softly, more to myself than him, and he looked at me silently.

I looked down, feeling uncomfortable under his stare, and after a few minutes a hand reached out to touch my cheek. I flinched at first, but soon relaxed as I met his gaze once again. "You can do so much better, ye know?" I sighed before nodding my head, forcing out a smile. "It's hard when I've started to fall for the man keeping me trapped here."

We stared at each other for what seemed like hours before I cleared my throat, shaking my head quickly. "Anyways. Tell me more about you?"
