CHAPTER -23

Manik was trying very hard to get up. But all his efforts were going in vain. Manik didn't stop trying.

Nandini's innocent face flashed before his eyes. Her giggles , her anger, her laughter, their flour fight ,her getting irritated whenever he teased her.

Everything was flashing before his eyes. Then suddenly her laughter turned into painful cries. How she had held his hand tightly so that he would save her from the kidnappers, how she called out his name to help her, her faith and trust on him. All this flashed before him.

Manik to self- No. I can't let anything happen to her. I have to save her. I can't let her trust on me break. I have to get up. She needs me. Manik Comeon get up. You can do it. You have to help her before it's too late.

Manik applied full force and got up. But fell down on the floor. He again got up and fell down. He wasn't able to stand properly on his legs.

He tried for the third time and succeeded this time.

Manik slowly walked towards the door and found it looked from outside.

He looked around and found an axe.

It was a wooden door .

Manik hit the door with the axe and the door broke.

Manik was still under the effect of the drug so he wasn't able to walk properly.

He kept on bumping into things while walking.

Manik didn't know where the kidnappers had taken Nandini.

He looked around but found no trace of any person.

Manik walked further and shouted - NANDINI........

But there was no reply.

He came out of the house in which they were kept.

It was dark all around.

He realized that the house was in a forest.

He didn't know how to find Nandini. He kept walking in one direction when he spotted Nandini's Dupatta on the grass.

Manik picked it up and again shouted - NANDINI....... kaha ho tum.

Meanwhile at some distance from there, in a small hut, the kidnappers had tied Nandini to a cot and were drinking.

Nandini's mouth was stuffed with a cloth so that she couldn't shout.

Nandini was struggling to free herself.

She heard Manik's voice calling out for her.

Nandini tried to remove the cloth from her mouth and succeeded.

She shouted- MANIK........

Manik heard her and walked in that direction.

The kidnappers laughed and said - Oye koi nai aane wala tujhe bachane.

One of them said- Kuch bhi khao yaar. Paaji hai bade dilwale. Kitna khayal rakhte hai wo hamara Jo Hume itna khoobsurat tohfa de diya.

One of the kidnappers got up and went towards Nandini .

Nandini - Dekho paas mat aao hamare warna Acha nahi hoga.

Kidnapper- Oye band kar apni bakwaas.

Nandini - Please mujhe chod do. Aisa mat karo.

She started crying.

Kidnapper- Tere aasuo (tears) se hum pighalne wale nahi hai. To band kar apna rona dhona.
