CHAPTER -44

The next morning, Manik got up early and went to consult the doctor if they could take Nandini home.

Doctor agreed to discharge Nandini and instructed Manik to make sure that Nandini doesn't go back on the pills again.

Manik assured the Doctor that it won't happen and he would take care of her.

Then Manik completed the hospital formalities and went to the room where Nandini and Shanti were still sleeping.

Manik looked at Nandini's angelic face for a few minutes.

Nandini was sleeping with a frown on her face.

Manik self thought- Nandini I won't let this frown remain on your face for too long. I will make everything ok.

Then Manik woke Shanti up and said - Bua. Ghar chale..... Nandini ko discharge milgaya hai.

Shanti agreed and till then Nandini also woke up.

Shanti - Nandini Beta chalo, we can go home now.

Nandini just nodded and got down the bed .

Nandini still had some weakness so she was about to fall but Manik rushed to her and held her tightly.

Shanti - Nandini sambhal ke Beta. Tum theek ho na. Chal paogi.....

Nandini - Mai theek hoon.....

Shanti - Kya theek ho..... Chala bhi nahi jaraha tumse.....

Manik - You are right Bua. I will help her.

Nandini - Nahi ..... I am fine.

Saying this she looked at Shanti.

Nandini then thought that it's better not to create an unnecessary scene in the hospital so she kept quiet and allowed Manik to help her. Though she had decided to stay away from Manik but right now she had no choice.

The three of them reached home and Shanti took Nandini to her room.

Manik went to Nyonika's room to talk to her about cancelling the wedding.

Nyonika was alone in the room as Raj had gone on a business trip.

Nyonika - Manik ..... Aao na Beta..... Kya baat hai tum kaha the kal raat se. Kitne call kiye Maine tumhe......

Manik - Mom wo actually.... Nandini had fainted while we were returning from Aliya's party. So she had to be hospitalised.

Nyonika - What??? How? Aur Kisi ne mujhe Kuch bataya kyu nahi?

Manik - Mom mai raat ko batane aaya tha but aap so rahe the. That's why I thought to inform you in the morning.

Nyonika - Is she fine now?

Manik - Yes Mom she is Ok now. Mom mujhe aapse Kuch baat karni thi...

Nyonika - Kis baare me?

Manik - About Nandini....

Nyonika - Nandini ke baare me kya baat karni hai tumhe?

Manik - Mom I want you to call off her wedding.

Nyonika - What? But why? Usey to koi problem nahi hai. Fir tum kyu bol rahe ho aisa?

Manik - Mom.... Because she is not happy with this marriage alliance.

Nyonika - Nahi Beta Maine usse baat ki hai. She is ready. Usne tumse kaha hai kya ke she is not happy....

Manik - Mom you are not getting it. The thing is ke....

Manik was interrupted by Nandini who said - Mummyji hum ye shadi karenge. Hum Khush hai. Aap log hamari tension mat lijiye.

Nandini said all this looking at Nyonika avoiding eye contact with Manik.

Nyonika - Dekha mai bol rahi thi na Manik tujhe. Ab to Nandini ne bhi keh diya hai tere samne. Ab to koi problem nahi hai na tujhe.

Manik just kept looking at Nandini.

Nyonika - Nandini Beta tum bilkul bhi fikar mat karo. Tumhari shadi me koi kami nahi hone doongi mai. Bahut hi dhoom dham se hogi tumhari shadi.

Nandini just nodded and left.

Manik followed Nandini And stopped her by holding her wrist.

Manik - Nandini kyu kar rahi ho tum ye sab. When you know that it will eventually hurt you. Aisi bhi kya majboori hai Jo tum itna bada decision le rahi ho. When your heart is somewhere else.

Nandini - Manik. Please..... Humne bahut hi soch samajhke ye decision lia hai. Aur Ab hum peeche nahi jayenge. Isi me sabki bhalayi hai. Aur aap aisa koi bhi kaam nahi karenge jisse shadi me koi bhi rukawat aaye.

Nandini took Manik's hand and held it in both her hands and said- Promise me ki aap hamari baat maanege. Please promise me....

Manik freed his hand from Nandini's hand and left from there without saying a word.
