"Oh, Jongin~!" my best friend, Jackson, fake moaned.

"I don't sound like that!!" I blushed darkly, smacking his forearm before mixing two liquids of different color.

"I bet you totally do!" he laughed, watching my mixture bubble up as he adjusted his goggles.

I rolled my eyes, writing down the results on a clipboard before smiling at my teacher as he walked by.

"Oh my god, do you have the hots for Mr. Andrews?!" Jackson gasped.

"No way!!" I squealed and whined, tugging on his shirt and apron.

We laughed and made jokes for the rest of the class.

I looked around the hallway, knowing that Kyungsoo was supposed to be in this hall after 4th period. My eyes scanned each face, yet with no success. I sighed in defeat, close to giving up the search.

Yet when about to give up, I saw Kyungsoo walking with some guy who was wearing a black baseball hat. I watched the stranger carefully as they laughed and walked together. Soon catching up with them, I rested my hand on Kyungsoo's shoulder.

"Hey Soo!" I said with a smile, startling the small boy. Wrapping my arm around his waist.

"O-Oh.. Hey.." he said, his cheeks slowly turning pink.

"Ooo.. is this the famous 'Jongin'..?" the stranger asked, earning a shove from Kyungsoo's elbow. 

I raised an eyebrow and watched the interaction.

"How do you know me-? Do you hear those girls screaming for me during lunch..?" I questioned, the unknown male shaking his head.

"No idiot, Kyungsoo always talks about you!" he smiled, ruffling Soo's hair. 

His cheeks only became a deeper pink.

"Cuteeeee~" I hummed, causing Kyungsoo to walk faster until the stranger and I had lost him.

"Weird.." the stranger mumbled, walking with me to class.

[ lunch ]

I rushed to the lunch line, my small stature causing me to waddle. I got a tray, some unidentifiable food items, and a bottle of some peach flavored milky soft drink. When I was done, I looked around before Jackson approached me.

"Hey cutie," Jackson smiled at me, taking my tray to carry it for me. He began to walk, my figure following naturally. My eyes scanned the room before I noticed Jongin's cold gaze on me.

I'm sorry.. I mouthed to him, continuing to follow my hyung. We finally sat at a table that was somewhat close to Jongin's.

why was he so fond of that guy? what does he have that I don't?

I got up, stomping in anger over to where I had seen Soo sit down. Approaching him, I made eye contact with his friend. I grabbed Kyungsoo's arm and stood him up.

"What are you doing? We always sit together," I looked at the smaller boy as he showed signs of fear.

"Jackson wanted me to sit with him.." Soo spoke softly and sadly, showing shame in his expression.

"Baby.." I began to frown when I noticed his sudden sadness. I took the small boy into my arms, hugging him comfortingly. He sunk into my arms as he pressed his cheek against my chest. I could feel my heartbeating against the small boy, and never before had I been so happy.

[ after school ]

Walking with Jongin, I had never felt so happy and cared for. I couldn't help but smile when he had reached out to hold my hand. The sun was warm, and the roads were calm. There was a soft breeze in which swayed the trees back and forth. 

"I'm sorry I didn't sit with you at lunch," I spoke finally, Jongin glancing at me.

"Don't sweat it, baby," he said, softly squeezing my hand in his. 

I couldn't help but think we were more than just friends.
