For diamonds do appear to be just like broken glass to me
I've always wondered why these were some of my favorite lyrics from Northern Downpour, but today really got me thinking even more about it.
I really doubt this is what they intended while writing it, but all art is open for interpretation.
Diamonds- diamond rings. Marriage
Broken glass- slow trek across it. You have to pick up the pieces. Broken.
I don't come from a family full of the happiest marriages, so I may be a bit biased if that's the right word?? I don't think so but I can't think of the right word either.
Diamond rings lead to broken things. Marriages aren't always shiny glitz & smiles, sometimes it's broken promises, broken glass, and broken hearts.
There are happy things!! I'm not trying to be a total downer but, like I said, I don't really know much of real life happy marriage.
Just combined with some things I've been thinking about, then listening to the song again, it just kind of connects
Idk this was short & not well explained, but it's just what I've been thinking about other than all the doctor who stuff I've been spamming myself with but that's besides the point...
Okay bye
