The One and Only

Chapter:29

I sat there waiting for my turn to ride. It was the last day before Witchita Falls. Bobby and Mitch were watching the saddle bronc riders with me as I waited.

"June Hazard." I left the railing of the fence. Most of the cowboys were upset that I was doing this but while I was doing this there was a woman bull riding. I smirked as I neared the chute. Of course I had to shove my way past the ones that were not wanting me to ride. Once I got into the chute I turned on the GoPro I had on my vest.

I nodded eagerly before the gate was opened. Right out I was knocked onto the side of the horse. He bucked and I regained my seating. I never touched the ground once. Finally when the buzzer sounded I got off the horse and got out.

That time my score was the lowest it's ever been. I lowered my head and looked back up. My phone buzzed in my shirt pocket. I got it out and looked at who it was. Bonner texted me. 'How'd you do?'
I knew he was asking about barrel racing. 'Good I got third place.' I told him.
'That's good I'll see u when I can baby girl.'
'U2.'
'<3 U.'
'<3 U2.'
Once our conversation was done I put my phone away and went back to my trailer. I put Crugar up and made sure he was secure. Then I went into the living quarters. I got sports clothes and undergarments before going into the small bathroom onboard.

I had the hot water on and heated up. My phone rang on the counter. I hit answer because it was Gabe.
"Hey June you called earlier?"
"Yeah. I was wondering if I could stay at your place for the rodeo."
"I'm traveling with the BFTS for PBR."
"You never said you were doing that!"
"Well.... Anyway the spare key is above the door to let you in. I'm doing this just for you, so don't go and tell people that your best friend let you crash at his place for the time."
"Why would I do that anyway?"
He went silent as I scrubbed my body up. "Gotta go. TTYL." I finished before hanging up. I rinsed off and got out.

After dressing I went over to my bed and crawled up in his blanket wearing one of his shirts.

I woke up and threw on a pair of jeans leaving his shirt on. It said PBR Finalist top 5 with Bolton written across the back. I pulled my hair up in a ponytail and pulled on my boots.

When I stepped out a woman gave me a stink eye. I smirked and went to get Crugar out to stretch his legs. As I walked Crugar several women looked at me as I walked by.

My phone rang. Bonner had wanted to FaceTime. I answered as I walked with my horse. "Hey beautiful."
"Hey handsome." I replied.
"Nothing much just wanted to see my girl." He told me.
"Glad you called before I hit the road."
"Is that one of my shirts?" He asked.
"May be." I replied.
He shook his head. "What am I going to do with you?" He asked.
"Love me and never leave me for anyone else."  I told him.
"Sounds like a plan to me." He finished.
I looked up and saw Mitch and Bobby talking. "So how many are jealous that your my girl?" He asked.
"I'm getting death glares." I told him.
He rolled his eyes.

I giggled before a door closed somewhere off screen. "Bonner someone said they want to see you." A male voice said. Bonner's face was full of fear and curiousness. "Um June I'll call you back in a little bit..... Let me know when you get to Witchita Falls." He told me before hanging up.

I looked at the screen like 'really he just did that'. Then I put my phone in my pocket and loaded up my horse. "You are not dating Bonner Bolton, are you?" A woman asked. She was the bull riding one that the cowboys were so scorned over.

"Actually I am. I'm meeting him in Lancaster Cali for the Fourth of July." I told her. "So you are dating him." I nodded as I put the travel boots on. "Wow no wonder the woman here are jealous." She said as I put the tail wrap on. "I know I told him they were giving me death glares. Just wait until I kiss him in front of them." I told her as I loaded Crugar up.

She said goodbye and I made sure my trailer was hooked up. Finally I got in my truck and went on my way to Witchita Falls.
