My Lost Mate

Chapter 2

Jace's POV

Boring! This pack meeting is taking a ridiculously long time. I mean, I know I am the future alpha and all but do I really have to sit through all this now? I contemplate how mad my father, the current alpha would be if I just got up and left this overly fancy resteraunt while fiddling with my knife.

"Just go before you stab your dad with that knife" My best friend and future beta Daniel leans over and whispers in my ear.

"You are so right man I will be back in a minute, or five" I reply he just winks in return and turns around to talk to his mate Harper. I really like harper she is a nice girl, if not a little quiet but I have to admit I am a little jealous. Not of the girl before you go getting the wrong impression, I would never do that to a friend, but of the fact that Daniel has already found his mate.

I have been looking for three years to find my mate and I am still lonley. I know I could have any girl I wanted in the pack but I want more than that, I wnt my life partner, the only person who will truly understand me and love me for it. But I will have to wait I guess.

"Im going to the toilet" I inform the pack officialls as I get up to escape the boredom.

I make my way to where I think the bathroom is, not that I really care and as I go I feel a tiny body knock into me sending whoever it is stumbling back. As I get ready to make  a snappy watch where your going remark my eyes land on the person or godess should I say.

Her hair is long and wavy falling down her back and framing her gorgeous face full of wonder and appreciation and the thought of what makes my chest swell with pride.

I can feel my eyes shift as my wolf awakens in extacy of finding its mate.

Mate! my wolf cries in delight and the human part of my brain agrees. I have waited for this for too long.

"Mine" I growl in pleasur, delighted to finally be able to say that to someone. As I stand there expecting a similar response but instead her face fills with confusion then anger as she registers what I said.

"Excuse me?!?" She explains in a voice that has my wolf howling in pleasure silky and soft yet anger adding a liitle gravel to it. Wait what, anger? Why is she angry, my possesiveness should fill my mate with delight but instead she is like this!

"Whatever weirdo" She says and storms off seeming thoroughly annoyed.

What the hell! my wolf exclaims.

I am left in total confusion as I stumble back to the table.

Amilie's POV

That dude was so weird! Who does he think he is call in me his, I dont even know him! I fume as I walk off though my chest feels funny walking away from him, weird.

I storm back to my parents now in an even worse mood that when I left. Now even complete strangers think they can walk all over me.

"I think this was sufficiently unpleasent tonight, Mom, Dad you've met Cayden and that was all we came here to accomplish so I think we can all agree its time to leave." I practically hiss in frustration.

My parents look at me in shock and Cayden in releif.

 "Young lady that is not how I raised you to behave, we are in public!" My mother exclaims.

Oh yeah like you raised me, you were never around I want to scoff in her face but gaining some sene back I realise it would just be easier to be diplomatic and leave.

"Sorry mother" I mutter trying not to sound too pissed.

"Don't mumble Amilie! My goodness its like you were raised by wolves! Let us leave now before you humiliate us in public" She replies

Well atleast we get to go I reason with myself to refrain from making a smart reply.

"We will pay the bill, you two go make your goodbyes" My father says with a pointed glane to Cayden. Nice dad really subtle.

I wast no time walking away, soon followed by Cayden.

"Im sorry babe I know I probably should have tried to impress them more or mabey.."

"No dont worry I dont care what they think I dont even know why I suggested this" I cut him off before he worries himself too much.

"If you say so Amilie. Do you want me to stay over tonight? I know you dnt like being all alone in that big house."

"Thank you so much that is really sweet of you, you dont have to it just feels so empty you know?"

"Thats ok I love spending whatever time I can get with you. What time do your parents leave for their conference?"

"They have an 11 o'clock flight if thats okay"

"Yes babe absoloutley fine I will see you later then, I love you"

"I love you too thanks again" I reply feeling gratefull , he knows me so well how did I get so lucky?

I say goodbye with a quick kiss before he walks away to his car. He really is the best.
