I rush to the window and try to push it open, but it's not budging. No surprise there, I've been kidnapped; why would the window be easy to open? I mentally kick myself for being stupid and try the door. Amazingly enough, it was unlocked. I slowly pull open the door to try and avoid and creaks.
I peek around the frame and see nothing, what kind of kidnapping is this? They don't have guards watching me or anything? I mentally laugh at the stupidity of my so called 'kidnappers'. They're definitely slacking. At least I can attempt to get out of this place.
The hallway walls are grey with coarse white carpet, and it is dimly lit. I turn to my right and see a door with a bright light cascading through the tiny window above it. Hopefully it leads me outside, this place is definitely giving me the creeps and goosebumps.
I rush for the door and shove it as hard as I can. The door swings open easily. It catches me off guard, causing me to fly out.
I fall onto the ground catching myself with my hands. I feel the stinging sensation surge throughout my palms. My head starts pounding and I hear a loud screech travel through the air. I cover my ears to try and stop the ringing.
"What in the world is going on here?" I whisper to myself. I push myself off of the ground and I look around. I hear yelling from inside the building. Either I can run into the woods, or down the gravel. I'm definitely not fast enough to run down the gravel without getting caught...
So to the woods I go, I rush past multiple trees and can see a small trail that looks like it hasn't been used much. Grass is sprouting down the middle of the path, as well as fallen branches and sticks are covering up most of the path.
I stop and look around, I decide to stick to the path. Maybe it leads me away from that hellhole I was trapped in. I stumble over a big rock covered in dead leaves, but I catch myself just in time, before I hit the ground. I stop and brush the dirt and crumbled leaves off my clothes, not that I could look any better without a total makeover.
I hear a twig crunch somewhere behind me. I duck down into this ditch next to a huge log and look around the area I could search.
I hear the crunching of the old leaves on the ground, I peek over the log and see a squirrel. I let out a breath of relief.
I quickly get up realizing that people are searching for me and I'm messing around in a ditch. How silly of me.
I run up the path until I hear cars honking, and engines revving. The trees are getting more thinned out and I can see a main highway. The highway is very busy.
Hopefully they can't find me here, or at least they won't try anything. I wait until I see a break in the traffic and make a run for it. I hear car horns blaring, tires screeching and angry drivers yelling. I run up to the nearest car that didn't proceed to drive.
"Hello, c- could you help m-me?" I stutter nervously as I look at the driver. A boy who looks a little older than me. "W-where are you going?"
"Miss, I should ask you the same thing," he genuinely smiles. "Hop in and I'll take you where-"
"Wait," I started looking around as I walk to the passenger side. "Where am I?"
He lets out a chortle. "You don't know where you are? How ironic. A cute girl who looks terribly frightened runs out of woods.. And of all people I'm the one she approaches-"
"I'm sorry, just please tell me where I am and I will explain everything as you drive." I plead holding back tears. "Just please, where am I?"
"Uh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..." He trails off his face softening.
"Please," I beg.
