Chapter 5: Did That Just Happen?

When Sabrina walked into school the next day, she was greeted by Ally flirting with Brock in first period. To her horror, Brock seemed to like it! She walked up to Brock and asked him if he and Ally were officially a couple.

"Get away from me! I never want to see you again!" Brock replied.

One tear dropped down Sabrina's face as she walked away from him. Sabrina could hear Ally laugh her heart out as she sat down in her seat. She looked back at Brock to see that he had a confused look on his face.

"What just happened?" Brock asked.

"You just taught that girl not to mess with you because you're mine! Well played," Ally said, glancing at Sabrina with dirty looks.

"What are you talking about?"

"Oh stop it, Brock! You're so funny!" Ally said, playfully pushing on his shoulder.

"Look. I don't know what's going on here, but we are not dating!" Brock said, leaving Ally's side to talk to Sabrina.

"Do you have any idea what she's talking about?" Brock asked, glancing back at Ally.

"No clue," Sabrina replied.

At that, she knew Brock didn't know his bracelet glowed for Ally. Sabrina wasn't sure why Brock was against her one minute and in favor of her the next, but she put that thought aside. She looked down at Brock's wrists to see that his bracelet was glowing for her! How could this be?

"Sabrina, right?" Brock asked.

"Yah. Brock?" Sabrina asked back, pretending that she didn't already know his name.

"Yah."

Silence filled the air as awkwardness grew between them. Brock finally broke the silence.

"Can I ask you something?" Brock said.

"Sure! Go ahead," Sabrina responded.

"I don't know you that well, but I would like to before any other boy gets the chance. Will you go out with me?"

"Yes, of course!"

"Great! Hearing that from you is wonderful you know."

Sabrina smiled widely and blushed fiercely. Did that just happen? Sabrina asked herself.
