Sabrina was released from the hospital 3 days later. Brock and Spencer visited her everyday, and her parents never left her side unless they were instructed too. Now that it is Saturday, Sabrina can relax without worrying about school or drama. When she arrived home, Sabrina immediately flopped onto her bed. She felt good to be home again. All of a sudden, the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" Sabrina shouted.
She ran downstairs and opened the door. She was surprised to see the person at her doorstep.
"Grayson?" Sabrina said in shock. "What are you doing here?"
"I need to talk to you. Can I come in?" Grayson asked.
"I think it's best if you stay out here," Sabrina replied as her hatred for him boiled up inside her.
Grayson scoffed. "Look, I don't want us to be enemies. You were my niece's best friend, which kind of makes you my niece too!"
"I am not your niece!"
"Fine! Anyway, I heard that you were in the hospital for 5 days. I would've come to visit you, but I've been busy lately. This is all my fault, and I want to know what I can do to make it up to you."
"Your absence is payment enough!" Sabrina tried to slam the door, but Grayson stopped it with his hand. Sabrina angrily crossed her arms.
"I will find a way to make it up to you," Grayson said, genuinely.
"I'm not sure how you can do that."
"Wait and you'll see." Grayson thereupon left Sabrina's front porch and drove away. Sabrina rolled her eyes and shut the door, uninterested in what he was going to do to "make it up to her".
"Who was that?" Lauren asked when Sabrina walked back into the house.
"Grayson."
"Why didn't you let him in?"
"He said he had something to do, but he just wanted to make a quick stop to apologize to me."
"Oh, okay!"
Sabrina breathed deeply, relieved that her mother believed her fake alibi. Sabrina was about to make it to her room when she heard her doorbell ring again.
"What do you want!" Sabrina shouted, assuming it was Grayson. Her face turned bright red when she realized it wasn't him. It was Brock who rang the bell this time.
"I'm so sorry, Brock!" Sabrina apologized. "I thought you were someone else."
"Judging by your anger, I would hate to be that person!" Brock joked, causing Sabrina to giggle.
"What are you doing here?" Sabrina asked.
Brock sighed. "I know I've been on an emotional roller coaster lately, but when I saw you at the hospital, it was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life! I think I still have feelings for you. Any chance you would take me back?"
Sabrina was ready to say "yes", but she realized she couldn't.
"Brock, you're a really nice guy, but I'm dating Spencer."
"Oh, right. I can't believe I forgot that! I'm so stupid," Brock replied, obviously heartbroken. This probably hurt Sabrina more than it hurt him. She finally has a chance with him, but she rejected him for a fake boyfriend. She could've "broken up" with Spencer, but she knew that would be selfish of her, since he's trying to win over Ally.
"You're not stupid, Brock. Please don't think any less of yourself because of me. I still care about you very much!" More than you could ever imagine, Sabrina wanted to say.
"Thanks! That means a lot," Brock said. "I hope all is well with you and Spencer!"
"Thanks!" Sabrina replied.
Sabrina has never felt so angry. First, the person who ruined her life came knocking on her door thinking that one gesture can change everything. Now, she let the boy of her dreams slip away from her so she can be with someone she doesn't even have feelings for. This is not how she pictured her first day back from the hospital.
