Knock. Knock. Knock.
Kaname knocked on the door again, trying to get me to come out of the bathroom. I wouldn't move though, because I knew that I looked horrible. I'd caught something from the island and it hit me not long after we got back. He didn't know that, and I wasn't going to tell him I was sick. "Zero please open the door. You've been in there all morning." He said through the door.
"I'm just taking a- a bath! Yeah I'm just taking a bath." I said, more like forced out since it hurt to talk. I had to put a had over my mouth because I felt like I was about to vomit my insides out again.
"Yes, because a bath totally sounds like you heaving out every last thing you've ever eaten and drank every twenty minutes." He said and I could feel him roll his eyes. I wanted to laugh, but the first move I made with that, I had to hold my side because of how sore those muscles were in my stomach and back. "I have to leave soon, you know that right?" He asked gently. I sighed.
"Do you really have to?" I asked, already knowing the answer. I heard him sit down in front of the door. It was something he used to do as a kid when I would lock myself in the bathroom to keep from devouring an entire village or something and Yukki needed sleep. Eventually he would start talking to me through the door, and I wouldn't say anything but he never stopped. I would listen to him, he would talk fondly of his parents, and Yukki, and then he would get around to thanking me for watching over her when he couldn't.
Eventually he would coax me out of the bathroom, but that was only after I'd asked him to go fetch me some water. Speaking of water.
"I think there was something in my water, because it tasted funny and now I'm practically a walking corpse." I joked lightly. I could feel him shake his head. "So you really have to go?"
"Yes, I don't want to, but I have to because they 'have important business that must be attended to' but they can't do it here." He said and you could just hear him roll his eyes. "I could just quit, you and I could run off somewhere off the grid, Russia maybe, settle down and start a family. Wouldn't that be nice?" He asked and I immediately shook my head.
"You know that won't work." I said with a sigh. He hummed as a question. "I mean, sure we could run off but they would find us eventually. And plus I couldn't give you a family, not really." And then quietly I added, "I can't give you what a girl could." I heard him get up quickly and then he opened the door. I threw my hands up and had an expression that said "are you fucking kidding me you just opened the fucking door". He kneeled down in front of me.
"Shut up." He said, and I opened my mouth to say something, but he stopped me. "I have to leave now. Will you be alright?" He asked and I just nodded without meeting his eyes. He grabbed my chin gently and forced me to look at him. "I'll be back in a few weeks okay? And you look horrible." I snorted at the last comment. He smiled softly at me and then walked out, leaving me by myself.

"What do you mean a few more weeks? You've been gone for a month already." I stated tiredly. The sickness had gotten better, but now my body was bipolar meaning that I either wanted to eat the whole fridge or throw up my internal organs. But as I said, he didn't need to know that; he also didn't need to know the fact that I was extremely fucking emotional about the fact that he hadn't come home. What the hell am I talking about? Home? This isn't his home, we don't live together, this isn't where he's obligated to come to. I sighed again and just looked out of the window in our- my room. "Just let me know when you think you might come back." I said, trying to act like I didn't care.
"I will, I can't wait to get back home." There's that word again. Home. Where is that? I heard a girl on the other side of the line, saying something I couldn't understand to Kaname. He replied nicely, gently, like they knew him. "Hey I've got to-"
"Okay." And then I hung up. I threw the phone afterwards, not because of him, but because of me. I couldn't control it sometimes, it just happened. And then someone had to knock on the door. I walked down some stairs and to the door, opened it and was surprised at who I seen. "Ichiru? What are you doing all the way over here? And hey Yukki." I said. Ichiru looked at Yukki and she blushed. I quickly put two and two together and I wasn't too happy about it. I took a fistful of his shirt and pushed him against the wall, raising my right fist up ready to hit.
"Zero!" Yukki yelled, but not too loud so that someone close by would hear and be alarmed.
"I don't care if you're my brother or not, if you hurt her I'll-" I stopped. "I'll...." I lowered my fist down and stared at the wall behind him. The next thing I knew, I collapsed. Everything went black.

I woke up in the hospital, monitors beeping all around and an IV in my arm. I felt a little better, but that didn't mean anything. Then the doctor came in and seen that I was awake. He smiled at me."Can I ask you two to step out for me? I think Zero would like to hear the verdict himself first." He asked and they nodded. Yukki looked worried as Ichiru gently guided her out. The doctor then turned to me. "Well, I hope you take this news better than I did." He said with a laugh.
Little did I know that what he told me next would make my life turn upside down.
Aaaannd cliff hanger! This is horrible because one of my sisters had this sickness that he has and it wasn't pretty... Oh well!! Bye guys!
