Lady

I was sitting outside on the patio in my white bath robe.

I was just sitting there thinking.

"What are you doing baby?" I turned around to see Bruno.

"Oh I'm just...basking in the sun. You know I love watching the sunrise."

"Yeah I know."

He pulled up a chair and sat beside me.

I closed my eyes and let the sun beat down on my face.

"Mm..." I sighed.

I felt Bruno brush my hair behind my ear. I opened my eyes and smiled at him.

"Baby...Don't that tickles me." I said playfully.

"Sorry, boo. What are you thinking about?"

"It's okay. And i guess I'm just thinking about everything we've been through...and...and everything we are."

"What do you mean, love?"

"I mean...how much I love you and...how much you love me... Our kids and what nena would say if she knew we had children." I laughed.

"I wonder what my mother would say."

"I still wonder what my father would say."

Bruno grabbed my hand and squeezed it.

"I love you." He said. "I love you more than anything."

"Aww Bruno. I love you more."

I said smiling at him.

"Hmmm...You know, now that you and I are starting over, we should have a party."

"That's your solution for everything, Lori Anna. A celebration." He laughed.

"Yeah, a celebration." I smiled.

"You sure?" He said with a look of uncertainty.

"Positive. We could make amends with everyone we could celebrate moving forward."

Bruno smiled and laughed.

"Okay. If it makes you happy then okay. Let's celebrate."

I stood up and kissed his cheek.

"I'll call everyone and set it up." I said.

"Okay baby."

Two days later

"Bruno? Did you take the ribs out of the oven?"

"Yeah baby, I got it-" The doorbell began to ring.

Lori held up her hands and kissed my cheek.
"I got it. Okay? I got it. Get the ribs out the oven and take them outside."

"Okay, boo."

I walked into the kitchen and put on the oven mitts.

I quickly took out the ribs and headed out to the backyard.

Lori answered the door, I turned around and saw it was my sisters.

"Hey guys." I said.

"Hey Bruno, hey!" The all said simultaneously.

"Well come on, y'all. The party is in the back."

Lori hugged them and lead them down the hallway.

When I stepped into the backyard, it looked beautiful.

Lori had decorated the back yard with lights and the fountain to the pool was going.

The band was already here and the kids were playing with each other.

Sydney and Lori were talking to my sisters.

I waved to them.

It seemed like everyone was here.

Everything was perfect.

Lori was looking at me out the corner of her eye.

I nodded.

She excused herself and walked to me.

She grabbed my hand and kissed my cheek.

"Hi." She said.

"Hey." I said.

She leaned over and whispered into my ear. "You look good in that apron daddy."

"Oh really well maybe later we can..."

"Oh of course sugar...that is what we do best."

"You're damn right. " I smiled. I kissed her again.

"You ready to tell everyone?"

"Yeah."

"Is everyone here?"

"Yeah my sisters and my mother just came in so...its now or never."

I smiled at her and nodded.

"Excuse me everyone!" I said loudly. "Can I have everyone's attention?"

Everyone looked over at Lori and I.

"Well you all know, Lori and I have been married for some time now and that we have three little bundles of joy. But part of the reason that we invited you all here today is because Lori and I are expecting."

Lori rubbed her stomach and smiled.

You could hear gasp and whispers across the yard, but then everyone began to clap.

"We did it baby." Lori whispered.

"Yeah we did." I kissed her again. "I can't wait for our family to grow and for us to grow old together."

"Me too, Bruno."
