"That was hilarious." I drop off my towel at my bed, disappointed that I didn't get to swim. Mr. Clayton was so steamed up when Ava told him we're related, I've been replaying it in my head for the last fifteen minutes, dying of laughter every time.
"Skylar, you gotta stop laughing." Johnny has a hint of laughter in his voice as he tries to shut me up. Hint: tries.
"I'm related to Mr. Clayton!" I slap my thigh, dying some more. Suddenly Ava appears at the doorway and it grows serious.
"Mr. Carter, don't you have your job to get to?"
"Yes ma'am." Johnny doesn't even look back at me as he dashes out of my room. I sit up, still laughing in my head.
"So, what's up?" I cross my legs on the bed and she sits in a chair across from me.
"I am here to help you get dressed." She properly looks around.
"I can do that myself." I shrug, not understanding why I would need her assistance.
"You need clothes that are appropriate." I can hear the sting of judgment in her sharp voice.
"So, what leather?" I pull my fingers together, getting excited.
"More like strapless gown."

"What's the purpose of this top?" I step out. Ava was making me try on clothes that were already in this closet, and let me tell you; they were ugly. I have on a skirt right now with a lacy "crop top". "I have more skin showing then cloth!" I complain, trying to pull the shirt (more like a bra, but whatever) down more. "I might as well be topless than wear this!" I go on. Ava finally gives in and makes me try on dresses. Even worse. She made me put on short ones, tight ones, long ones, straps, no straps. By this time I was no longer here, I was just putting it on, complaining about it and then taking it off. But eventually Ava got fed up with my game and made me keep one on. And it was pink! Ew.

"Can you tell me where we're going now?" My breaths are heavy as I stomp around in these heals. I feel as if I have five layers of lotion on my face; which Ava ordered a makeup artist to do my face. My eyebrows my look good right now, but for the cost of the pain, no thank you! We were walking on a gulf course, which was down the street from the mansion, yet Johnny still had to drive us there (which makes no sense; if I had on reasonable shoes we could've saved time and just walked!).
"You're meeting your father." Ava keeps calm and 'normal'.
"My father! Like this?" I stop, taken aback.
"How else would you look?"
"Like me! Like the girl that I am!" I raise my voice and she flinches back.
"Never mind that. Mr. Carter, take us to my husband." She orders as Johnny pulls up in a golf cart. I'm steamed up, and she just ignored me! I do not want to meet my father looking like a doll! This isn't me! Unhappy, I climb onto the back. I groan and see a bag next to me in the cart with my name on a note stapled to the plastic. I open it just because I'm a curious one; I see my pair of Converse and I smile. Johnny knew.
By the time we got there my nerves were up, but I was still angry at Ava. I saw Mr. Shallow out on the golf course with a man beside him talking on his phone. I always pictured the king (A.K.A. my father) as an older man, with strick rules like his wife, so I was waiting. Ava got off and went to the man, but he kept arguing.
"Molly, you need- hold on my wife's here." He clicks his phone and shakes the Ava's hand.
"Anthony, this is Jocelyn." She smiles, which is kinda creeping me out....
"Skylar." I stand forward, going over my plan in my head.
"It's nice to meet you Skylar Jocelyn." He shakes his head in confusion. "What business brings you here today?"
"Anthony, this is Jocelyn-"
"Clayton's girlfriend of the week! Nice to meet you, although you probably won't be here long." He leans in and whispers horribly.
"Ha, she wishes." Clayton huffs and continues putting.
"No, Tony-"
"I'm your daughter." I push out, being myself. Ava bites her tongue but I can tell she's not very happy with that one.
"Oh, right! Forgot you were coming today...."
"I just wanted you two to meet, so we'll get headed out-" Ava eases me to the cart but I stand forward.
"Would you consider another player?"
