Chapter 6...The six crept silently deeper into the, what seemed like, everlasting forest.
He escorts found themselves being extra alert, Jellal in the front, looking out for any enemies who may attack head on, while Natsu was in the back, also looking for any foes who may attack from the shadows. Gray, in the trees, looking out for any enemies who may attack from above.
It was especially dark, they thought it may be more convenient for Natsu to lead the front and make a self torch for them, but that may have lured enemies near, so they stuck to the formation.
"Erza-san, do you have an educated guess on the arrival time of our journey?" Princess Juvia asked her fellow sister, whispering lowly. "I believe we were to arrive in two to three days if the stops go as planned and we aren't delayed. But then again, if we miss the timed schedule for arriving in that small border crossing town then we may arrive in five to six days, more or less" said Erza, patting the sharp lump in her dress gently.
Juvia nods as she smiled to herself, quickly glancing upwards towards the trees. "Oh, okay then. Thank you" she continued to walk. Though there seemed to be a deadly silence in the front, near the end, where both Natsu and Lucy were walking, they seemed to be having he conversation of never ending hysterics.
"Oh oh, and then what happend?" Asked the desperate princess, urging for him to continue his story. His grinned, his eyes still darting from place to place behind them, but he was a huge multitasker.
"Well, then Romeo attacked again, but his form was totally off, he fell over without even landing a single hit. But hey, that's what I'm here for, I've got a disciple" he bragged, and all to her amusement.
"I'm sure you're a very good mentor" Said Lucy, also, this time, glancing around for enemies.
In the slightest of hesitation, by the faintest of noises, you could hear a yell from ahead, causing both Mages to turn around.
It was a plea, or in some way, a warning. It was a comrade, "scatter" they yelled, Natsu couldn't even detect the sent, but that didn't matter. Right now, he had to protect Lucy.
Out of he corner of his eye, Jellal could see everyone falling back, as he and the warrior maiden fended off the unknown attackers.
Wait, where's Juvia? The raven haired individual thought, his eyes darting back to the land, where the Princess searched behind her for any attackers, and that's where she ran. Desperately searching for someone, because on comand, she did want to run.
"Dammit" he hissed, swooping down to scoop her up, "Hold on tight" he grunted, swiftly escaping into the trees, making sure to take out one of the attackers by dropping a boulder of ice on him.
They were separated now, still unaware of who these attackers were.
