Chapter One
Morgan
"Are you ready for this?" I whispered to myself. Senior year has finally come. I honestly couldn't wait to finish my school life and get a diploma, but the feeling of taking all these tests to pass overwhelmed me.
"Of course you're ready," my mom said. I stood at the door step, stalling to go to school. I didn't live that far from it so I had to walk. My mom pulled me into a hug and kissed my forehead. "I'm proud of you, baby girl, go break a leg." My mom always had a huge love for theatre and acting, and she was a theatre teacher at an elementary school. She always used her 'theatre jokes' on me knowing I didn't like them.
"Thanks, Ma," I smiled and took my first step out the house. I didn't care for the joke. I had been standing there for a awhile now, thinking about what was to come.
As I started my walk to school, I saw a boy in front of me. He was dribbling a basketball with headphones plugged into his ears while walking. He looked around my age.
I walked all the way to school with the sound of a basketball dribbling. That also seemed to calm down my nerves since I do love basketball.
"Morgan!" I heard someone scream out my name. I looked around and saw Taylor running to me. She's also someone that shares a passion for basketball. She's been my bestfriend since third grade.
"Hey, Taylor," I smiled and engulfed her into a hug.
"Stephen was right in front of you!" She squealed. I knitted my eyebrows in confusion.
"Who's that?" I asked her.
"Stephen? You don't know who he is. He's the fine guy from school." She said.
"Sorry, hun, but I don't focus on boys at this school. I could care less about them." I shrugged.
"You seriously haven't seen him?" She asked in shock. She made it seem like she also never met him in the four years we've been here.
"No, I focus on two things, basketball and education," I said. I honestly don't know more than half of these kids names because I could care less. That's probably why I don't know who this 'Stephen' is, although it'd seem like I'd remember who he was since his name was so unique.
"Ugh," she groaned. "Okay, well class is about to start, I'm going over there." She pointed to group of guys and a very few women.
"Alright," I said. Taylor and I have such different personalities, she's more of a party goer and flirts with boys while I'm a totally opposite person. I'm more of a chill and laid back person that focuses on their goals. Sometimes I wonder how we maintain to be friends with our crazy personalities.
I lost my trance once I felt a hard shove on my shoulder. "Watch where you're going." He spat. I rolled my eyes and scoffed. "What was that?"
"My ass," I remarked. He stared at me coldly again and then turned his head away. I notice the basketball in his hand, it was that one kid I walking by. That little shit.
The bell started ringing, signaling for students to get to class. I walked towards the front of the school and went straight upstairs. I know this school by heart practically.
"Morgan!" Emma yelled, running towards me. Emma is also one of my bestfriends, except I've been knowing her since sixth grade.
"Hey, Emma, what's your first period?" I asked her as we walked up the stairs.
"Um, I think chemistry," she said.
"Aww, we don't have the same first period. Well I see you at lunch, my class is right here," I said and gave her a quick hug.
