Chapter 16
I arrive at the swing bridge over the lake. Jake stands beside a medium-lit table with snacks. He is so creative and sweet! I walk steadily to the middle of the bridge. Surprisingly, the bridge itself is really steady.
"All for you, Princess Henderson." He says with a slight blushing effect on his face. I just give my common smile like always....
On the table there is a bottle of red champagne, cinnamon coated pancakes with strawberries and cream! It looks so fancy and also quite expensive. We sit across from each other. While we eat our 'desert', we talk about ideas on how to upgrade security around here. Almost finished with our food, Jake finally realizes that security isn't an appropriate theme to discuss at a date! We finish off with a few glasses of champagne....
"Alright, the surprise . You will see there's little changing quarters between the trees on the other side of the bridge." Jake directs to behind him.
"Okay, I'll go change then!" I walk to the first little wooden dressing room.
I lock the door behind me and change into my swimsuit. I leave my gown and heels in a little cupboard inside. I retrieve a towel provided and exit. When I get back at the bridge, Jake just stands there with his board shorts.
He turns around to look at me, he smiles and looks away. As I walk toward him, my hands begin to sweat and tremble. My face turns red and warm. My stomach begins to ache and drops. When I stand beside him, I get a closer look at his body...
Tanned skin, muscled contours of a six pack- eight pack, smooth and glistening skin.
One word; dreamy. Two words; eye candy....
"S-so, what's t-the big s-surprise?" I ask.
"Close your eyes and when I say you can open them look down at the water."
"Okay." I close my eyes. I wait a minute.
"Now open your eyes and look down to the water." I open my eyes and can't believe them! There are glowing fish in the lake! Glowing fish? This can't be true. But it is. I can see Jake looking at me trying to make out what my reaction may be. I also think he gets that it is awe, what else?!
Jake pushes me into the water beneath us, forcing me to jump against my will. I feel him right on my heels as we fly through the air. It's quite high so I have little time to think about everything surrounding me. Through my mind, I see flashing pictures of glowing fish racing away for their lives. Finally we hit the water with a great weight! We rise to the surface and head directly back into the water. We chase away the fish. They're beautiful! Neon pink, orange, yellow, green and purple. As all the fish disappear to the farther side of the lake, it's only me and Jake in the water... I stare off into his mossy eyes. And his gleaming body....It's just so magical. Unbelievable.
