Day 6. How does time fly by so quickly? It's so strange, when you don't want the time to go by, it does. When you want the time to go by, it feels like forever! Just one of life's very strange theory's. Well, there's nothing I can do about it now! Have you ever wondered what your name means? Yes! OK, that question just popped up in my head. What does Isabelle mean? I jog towards the library with people looking at me dumb-founded. I'm surely not surprised! I greet my fellow citizens with a polite not-so-royal-like wave. Well what can I say?! I haven't had much training. Just as I sit, ready to type in the URL code, the screen goes blank and words pop up on the screen. 'EMERGENCY COUNCIL'. Everyone around me stands up and exits the room. To where? I walk up to a young girl to ask her where everyone's going. She says two things:
∙I should really get taught all these things and not be so clueless all the time.
∙To the main ballroom.
Great, so I head to (well, actually follow everyone) the main ballroom. When I get there, the guards at the entrance pull me out and take me backstage. I hope they don't expect me to be onstage. Suddenly the make-up and hair artists are all around me. All I see are hands doing my hair, hands doing my eyes, lips, cheeks and eyebrows. It's chaotic! Then all of them pull me into a little changing station. Some of the hands are ripping at my T-shirt. All I have on now, are skinny jeans, pumps and a bra. Just as I try to cover my upper body, I have another clothing piece on! It's a cardigan sweater with lace covering the neck-line and sleeves. And it's in baby pink... seriously, people! It's not 1682! All the stylists leave me in peace behind the stage curtain. It's like a shockwave just hit me. This is all real. I'm the princess of this kingdom. I am responsible for all these lives and I am the one who has to comfort them in times of need and pain. I am Princess Isabelle Henderson of Zandigord. I will reign rightfully because I am the chosen one. I hear citizens clapping their hands and applauding. Suddenly the curtains in front of me swing open and the room is still. You could practically hear a pin drop if it wasn't for a few babies moaning. I know what to do. I have to assure them safety and they need to be informed about what is going on around here, even if I don't actually know myself. I step forward on the little foot-piece. Everyone's staring at me. It's like giving a class-speech but this time I have to get an A+. It's now or never. I swallow and start to speak, "Morning, my fellow citizens. As some of you may heard of, there was an attack upon us. I assure you that everything is under control and any panic or problem will be dealt with. I am here to tell you that I am trying my best to handle every situation that is upcoming and I promise to serve this kingdom till my time lapse is completed. I thank the board for choosing me to rule over you. I am happy to be here. Happy to be loyal and sure for the war ahead of us. The king and I will always be available, no matter what happens." Another standing ovation. Between the crowd, I see Jake smiling at me. My heart is racing at an indeterminate speed.
His eyes are looking into mine. I feel my knees dropping but Quinton is just in time to end the embarrassing stare. I walk back, knowing how Quinton must feel right now. Scared. Not knowing what to say. Pure panic. In fact, he looks kind of sure of himself. Like always! I can even imagine that there are girls standing between the crowd, swooning. I must admit, Quinton is handsome! Like you can remember... and he's a very nice guy. He should just be a bit more generous? It just proves that love at first sight is possible or it isn't. Which in this case, a bit of both.
