Victoria Luna was awaiting on the school fields for her two best friends. She was sat on a bench she just suddenly maneuvered under a tree. She placed her book bag gently on the leg of the bench she was sitting on. She placed her lunch bag on her lap and zippered it open to reveal a sandwich , crisps and a bottle of cold water.
She turned her head quickly to glance at the school doors of the sixth forms only. No sign of her two best friends. Victoria got out her sandwich and began munching on it because she was starving since her double gym period. She heard a gasp and cocked her head and looked at her best friend that was staring at her with a puzzled expression.
Melanie Carrillo was staring at her brunette haired best friend with her jaw dropped. Melanie finally managed to say something. "You never eat without us!" Victoria placed her sandwich back in her bag and smiled innocently. "Starving?" Victoria nodded slightly in response and Melanie nodded and sat next to her friend. Melanie opened her book bag and tried to look for her lunch. Victoria looked at her best friend that was struggling and shook her head. Melanie always had a messy book bag. Melanie let out a sigh in relief after she found her lunch bag. She opened it and revealed practically the same lunch as her best friend , but instead , she had iced tea for a drink. Melanie looked over at her mute friend and smiled. She began munching on her own food.
"Sorry I'm late! Double period," Their other best friend , Veronica Ruiz gasped for breathe. "The lower forms were dragging in the school halls." Veronica chuckled sightly and sat beside her two starving friends that were already scarfing down their food. Veronica slipped out her lunch and began eating her sandwich. "Did any new drawings today , Vero?" Veronica nodded and smiled at her friend's question. Melanie nodded. "Can I see , please?"
Veronica shook her head quickly. "Private." And she began scarfing down her own food. Veronica laughed and cocked her heads towards Victoria , who was almost down with her lunch. "Hey Vic. Have you talked today at least , love?" Victoria looked up and shook her head and began eating once again. Veronica sighed and Melanie gave a slight frown.
You see , Victoria was known as the mute child. She never talked , ever. Something bothered her , that's why she never spoke. Melanie was cheerful and always talked. She was , what you would call 'normal'. Melanie had the best personality. Everyone loved her because she was absolutely amazing. And Veronica drew. She drew mostly everything. If you ever touch or look at her drawings , she will be furious. She loved to draw , she only drew because she has some problems in school. Drawing made her worries go away.
"Vic. Can you tell us now?" Melanie gave a pout. Victoria simply shook her head and began finishing her food. You see , Victoria never talked because something horrible is happening to her. She never told anyone , not even her two curious best friends.
Victoria packed her lunch bag in her school bag and threw her bag over her shoulders. "Bye." She said in a whisper. Melanie and Veronica watch her best friend walk off into the sixth form doors. Melanie and Veronica turned to face each other and both gave a smile. Their best friend spoke today. Hopefully , they thought , she will speak tomorrow.
