Four Months Later

Issac plopped himself next to Alanis. Alanis clicked "Accept" on the laptop and Moriah appeared on her screen.

They were video chatting Moriah. They called Joel earlier, but he was busy and had to end the call after three minutes.

Moriah waved and blew a kiss at Alanis and Issac. Issac waved.
"Hi mommy!"
Moriah giggled.
"Hey sweetie."
Alanis smiled and cocked her head.
"Hey mom."
"Hello Lani, how's life?"

They spoke about their day, and tiny "incidents" that happened.
Let's just say, it's going to be a long time for Alanis to go throw the trash away in the dark by herself.

But, Issac had a question for the past four months, and couldn't keep it in anymore.

"Mommy, when are you coming home?"

Moriah slowly lost her smile. How was she going to tell Issac that she wasn't going to be home for the next eight months?

That was when she realized, was a tour really worth the time she could spend with her family? What if it was her last time to spend with them? Moriah couldn't bare those thoughts.

"Mom, are you still there?"

Moriah snapped out of her thoughts. Alanis was waving her hand in front of the laptop's camera. Moriah nodded.
"Yeah, I'm still here."

Issac asked one more time.
"Mommy, when do you come back?"

Moriah smirked, "Tomorrow."

Alanis and Issac's eyes widened, and so did their smiles.
Moriah was coming home.

Moriah nodded as Issac jumped up and down.
"That's right, I'm coming home tomorrow," she said.

Moriah smiled through out the chat, as they talked about how excited they were of seeing each other in person again.
Then, Moriah asked.
"So, how's your Joel?"

Alanis's smile faded away. She turned to Issac. She tried changing the subject before Issac realized what was happening.
"Hey, Issac, why don't you show mom the finger-painting you did today?"

Issac's eyes widened and he quickly nodded.
"Okay!"
He jumped off the couch and raced to get it. Alanis turned to Moriah.
"He is actually too busy to call us sometimes."

Moriah slowly lost her smile.
"Oh."
Alanis nodded.
"Yeah, but it's okay, at least he calls us."
Moriah smiled weakly.
"Yeah, that's better than not calling."

There was a bit of an awkward silence, but Alanis broke that.
"So, you're really coming home tomorrow?"
Moriah smiled wideley.
"Yes! I can't wait to come back."
Alanis asked.
"What about Tara and Shyann?"

Moriah thought then finally answered.
"I'll still keep them. Besides, who else is gonna help me take care of y'all? If your dad almost burned down the house, imagine you two with me. No way am I risking my life."

They both laughed and Issac came back.
They continued their conversation, laughing at some funny parts of the day.

-----------------

Moriah folded one of her shirts and placed it inside her suitcase. She was packing and getting ready to come home.

Sierra walked in, she had an earpiece, probably talking to some other people she manages.
She seemed excited and she squealed.

"Moriah, I just booked you a performance on a plane..."

Sierra's voice went from happy to confused, she saw Moriah was packing.
"What are you doing?"
Moriah turned away from her with a shirt in her hands. She held it tightly and bit her bottom lip. She tried to sound confident.

"I'm going back home, to my family."

Sierra began tapping her foot.
"And why?"
Moriah's palms were sweaty, they would probably damp the shirt.
"My kids need me."

Sierra lifted an eyebrow.
"So, your just going to leave while the tour is still going?"
Moriah bit her bottom lip, it was time to stand up for herself.

Moriah turned around with confidence, not afraid of what Sierra will say.
"Yes. Because my family is way more important than a tour."

Sierra raised an eyebrow and gave surprised face.
Moriah began to loose her confidence, she feared what Sierra might say.
Sierra just smiled and nodded.
"Go."

Moriah was confused.
"What?"
Sierra repeated.
"I said go."
Moriah began to shake in excitement.
"Really?"
Sierra smiled, showing her white teeth.
"Yes, because family is more important than this tour."

Moriah squealed and ran to Sierra. She hugged her tightly.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyou so much!"
Sierra smiled.
"Your welcome, Moriah. Now, you better start going, before you miss your flight."
Moriah nodded.
"Right!"

Sierra left and Moriah resumed packing, with joy in her smile.

Finally, after an hour, she finished packing. She pulled the handle, took a deep breath, and closed her hotel door.
