"What?! You can't do that! Can he do that?"

I looked at Alex, who stuck his hands up in the air and backed away.

"I don't think so."

I glared at Chase,

"If you do that again I'm going to disown you."

He shrugs amused.

"And wipe that grin off of your face."

He salutes me

"Yes Sir"

Alex burst out laughing. I glared at the two of them doubled over.

"Fine. I'll work on the attack plans myself" I huffed.

I bent over the table and drew up a rough estimate of the forest. I marked where I thought the water fall is and where the house is. I drew up where Wilbur should be and all of his known camps. I put in the main road as well. By the time The full plans where drawn up it was early morning. I had worked all night. I was nodding off at the table when Chase lifted me up. I batted his hands away. He goes to pick me up again but I bite his hands.

"C'mon Sam. You need to sleep, you've been up all night" he croons.

"I know I have, and if you'd had helped me I wouldn't be tired." I snapped.

He sighs. And picks up my chair.

"Put me down!" I scream,

he shakes his head and tips me off my seat onto a makeshift bed.

"Bastard" I mumble crossing my arms.

He pushes me down and pulls a fleece blanket up to my neck.

"You don't need to tuck me in you know."

"Yeah"

he bends over kissing my cheek,

"g'night."

I watch him leave thinking how much I miss him being the old funny, Cheeky Chase. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

War cries where heard everywhere, blood spotted the ground like rain drops. Fallen wolf and soldier bodies were shoved through rocks, floated in the river. It was only Me, Chase and Wilbur.

"This time you're not going to get away"

he had me pushed up against the waterfall. Chase was twitching on the ground beside him. I was panicking. I took a deep breath and sat on four paws, my tail tucked under me. I pushed my shoulders back and held my nose high.

"Go ahead, I don't care if I die as long as I've died protecting my kind"

he aimed and pulled the trigger, except the bullet didn't hit me. Chase was sprawled out over the gun, blood dripping from his furry chest.

"Chase!" I screamed.

I pulled his body away from Wilbur and laid him on the ground behind me. Wilbur tried to reload his gun. But he never did. I held his throat in my jaws, his head rolling into the river. I bent down next to chase and applied pressure to the shot wound. I watched his eyes roll into the back of his head

"Sam! Sam!"

Chase gently shook me. I woke up covered in sweat.

"Ch-Chase" I sobbed,

I held onto his neck trying to push the gory images out of my head.

"You okay?" He asked detaching me.

I shake my head, Falling back onto the bed. He looked better. No bags and no stubble. He kissed me softly, my body relaxing.

"What happened to you?" I asked,

"I went for a run" he replied. "I'm sorry if I scared you the other night. Bandits just...sneaky."

I nodded stealing another kiss from his warm, soft lips.

"Sam, Chase. They're here"

Alex walked in without thinking.

"Oh jee, sorry"

I jumped up, Startling Chase. I went to follow Alex out but Chase caught my arm.

"Just warning you, Chris is...he might try to-"

I stop him with a kiss.

"It's okay, I'll be fine"

he holds my forearms.

"I'm just saying, be careful."

I take a deep breath and meet the others.
