Your POV

"Tell your mom I can't come tonight."

"Eh?! How come!" I said to Levi, while skating at a slow pace as he was walking beside me.

It's been several months since Levi met my parents and tried to mug me. He comes at least two times a week for dinner, before he comes to dinner he always meets me after I'm done with skating and we both walk to my house.

At first, his presence was awkward and unwanted but after making very few conversations I've gotten use to it. It wasn't his presence that was making the atmosphere awkward, it was me that refused to talk to him.

"I'll be busy, especially tonight. I'll be busy, you might not see me as much anymore." He replies, his face was kept straight as we were slowly walking back to my house.

"Are you sure? My mom made a big dinner, it's your favorite." I reply, scanning at him.

Levi's hands were in his pocket and he was leaning back comfortably. "No, I'm fine."

"Where are you going?" I ask him. tilting my head. There was no doubt, he was hiding some thing. I didn't even realize that we have already arrived at our destination, my home.

"Back home, with a couple of friends." He said bluntly, his eyes were fixed on the setting sun.

...

"You better come back, this is basically your home." I said to break the silence. "Promise?" I said, slipping my hands in my pocket as we stood in front of each other.

"Yea, I'll come back." He says, turning his back at me to walk away.

Some reason my heart twinge, seeing him go instead of enjoying dinner where it was safe and warm.

Safe.

'Safe?' I thought, I watched him turn to a different corner, vanishing from my sight. I suddenly ran inside of my house, dropping my skateboard down beside the door.

"Mom, I'll be back." I yell out, hearing her mumble something but I didn't waste a minute to run out of the door again.

I ran, and ran, following Levi's path to where I last saw him. I stopped at the street, peeking around, seeing it was deserted.

'Where did he go?' I ask myself, searching as I found a dead end. For a second, I heard a door swing open.

Freezing, I shrunk into the shadows of the corner of the walls.

From the door, I saw a certain black haired man walk out. He wore such strict yet sad expression that my shoulders slumped down.

Another man was talking to Levi, he was standing by the door and wore a large black coat.

"Meet back here again at midnight." The man said, "make sure you have everything."

Levi gave a simple nod.

They exchange another word, then the man with the black coat shut the door.

It didn't take long for Levi to notice the unusual lump hindering at the corner of the walls.

"F/n, what are you doing here?" his eyebrows frowned at me, clicking his tongue.

"Ha... How did you know it was me?" I ask, standing up and walking to his view.

"I just knew." He said, tilting his head. "How long were you there?"

Giving a heavy sigh, I knew something inauspicious was going to happen.

"What's going on Levi? You should stop this." I said, "one day if you keep stealing, thieving, you're not going to come back one day."

"I'll be fine." Levi insists, "come on. Let's go eat, my work is finished." He says, walking off.

Thoughts lingering in my mind, I followed him back to my house for dinner.

Dinner went on as usual, as if nothing had changed. But who was that man? How did Levi connect with him?

And...

'Will Levi get hurt?'

I laid comfortably on my bed, the mattress felt like a cloud and my blankets were cool to my skin.

But none of these would able to stabilize my mind. I stood up, my feet touching the cold ground as I stood around in my room.

Staring out the window I saw a glimpse of a dark shadowy figure crossing the other side of the street away from the alley.

'Midnight?' Twisting my head to my digital clock, it was exactly twenty minutes past midnight.

Zipping up a sweater I sneaked out of the house, following to where I last saw...

A few rain drops hit my face, in the distance thunder claps were heard. There were many puddles, rippling from the last drops of the clouds.

Creeping around in the streets after dark is not fun. There were many shapes in the dark that could be anything, and the lamp posts started to flicker on and off, making the dark seize over.

Slowly inching to the alley, the wind was usually cold, I could feel it cutting through my clothing. Peeking from the corner, there was more puddles.

In the middle of the puddles caught my eye...

"Oh my god, Levi?!" I shouted, running towards him. I could hardly see anything but I was able to make out to see dark patches on his skin.

Levi was cold to the touch and didn't respond to mine. I laid his head on my lap. Water had soaked into his clothes and I could smell blood coming off of him.

"I told you so!..." I said, shaking him softly. "I told you..." My heart began to feel heavy, as he wouldn't move. "Damn Levi! Fucking move!" I began to yell.

He didn't.

I heard the thunder rumble, and the rain started again. My salty tears were mixed into the rain as it fell onto Levi's face.

"Levi... Stop playing.." I said, "come on?... S-stop joking around..." I repeat again. "This is not funny... Come on."

"Tomorrow it's going to be like usual, right? After I'm done skating, when I turn around you're going to be there... Then we're going to go home." I said, large drops of tears kept coming down nonstop.

"I'm sorry ok?? I should've stopped you from coming.... I'm sorry..." I repeated those words over and over again.

In his hands was something crumpled, I carefully took it, unraveling the paper open.

It was the picture of me when I had longer hair.

'Levi said he lost it.... He was lying?'

"You kept it all this time?..." I choked, hugging his body before I plead for him once more.

"Come back..."
