Chapter fifteen: the shelter

"That looks better than I imagined." I say looking at the finished shelter.

"We've got sleeping bags and everything!" The three boy exclaims, and you have to admit, he's kinda cute, (not like the attractive cute, like the small cute).

I walk over to a sleeping bag at the edge and lay down my pack on it and say "Dibs."

Cato dumps his pack on the bag next to mine and also says "Dibs."

We spend the rest of the day eating, drinking, laughing and doing impressions of the other tributes. As night approaches and I say "I'm on watch!"

"Okay," Cato says "It saves me staying up." I can tell he's forcing relaxation into his voice.

As soon as Marvel, Cato and the three boy fall rest their heads down the anthem plays and I see Glimmer's face in the sky. After it fades the four girl's face lights up the arena.

Marvel and the three boy lay down and sleep but Cato just sits there and I ask him the question before I can stop the words.

"How did you like her?" I say swivelling round to face him.

"Who?" He turns too so we're facing each other and I notice he has a tracker jacker sting right under his eye.

"Glimmer."

"I didn't!"

"Stop lying."

"I'm not lying!"

"You are."

"I'm not!"

"You seriously think I didn't see you in her arms?"

"And? You said you didn't like me in that way." He's right, I did say that.

"Well maybe I lied." I retort.

"Well maybe I was just trying to make you jealous." And before I have any clue what's happening, he leans towards me and he kisses me.
