Chapter seven: individual assessment

We're sitting in a room with all of the tributes expect Marvel, he's in a room with the gamemakers probably pathetically throwing spears. Glimmer is called this means Cato is next so I wish him luck.

Ten minutes later, my name is called so I walk into the room. The gamemakers are looking at me so I pick up some knifes and start throwing them at targets and headless dummies that I'm assuming Cato used. I hit all of them in the centre, return the knives and walk out.

Cato is waiting for me outside so I ask "Did you cut off the dummies' heads?" He grins and answers "How did you guess?" I know this is rhetorical so I just smile. When we get back to our rooms, Enobaria, Brutas, Rina and our stylists all ask how we did all I say is "Good." Cato says "I think I did okay." It's silent until Rina says "Well, you get your scores tonight so we'll see how you did then."

That night, we are all sitting in front of a posh Capitol TV watching Caesar Flickerman he sits down and says "Tonight, we will all see the scores from the tributes' individual assessment. Let's start with district one!" We watch intently as he starts "Marvel, with a score of nine. Glimmer with a score of nine. Cato with a score of ten." Oh god, I'm next. Please be a good score! "Clove, with a score of ten." I feel so happy! A ten, that's amazing, and Cato got the same! How could this day get any better? The girl from district five scored a five, the district eleven girl called Rue, scored a seven. All seemed good until the district twelve girl, Katniss, scored an eleven! What? Nobody's ever scored eleven! She's district twelve too! I can't believe I'm saying this but I want to kill her so much.
