Catopia- Kim Kitcher
As I was led away back to my dressing room by Mick, I began to wonder what was up ahead in my life.
Would I fight a dragon?
Would I die in the first few rounds? I gulped at that question.
I mean mostly everyone was trained for this day! One way or another....... Where I was trained in knifes and defense.
And only what? Once or twice a week?!
I thanks Mick as she handed me a black satin dress that shifted to silver when the light caught it. It was very pretty. Even with silver glitter on the black dress and when it shifted to silver, black glitter.
I smiled and thanked her again. I was so happy she was a friendly human.
I hoped we could hang out. If I didn't die. The thought hit me and I shook a bit nervously.
I didn't know if I could make it through the first round! Horror than shock hit me hard inning my body like a sledgehammer.
I shivered once more and walked to the waiting room until my interview began.
Mick had told me the last round before the harder rounds began was this one.
I tapped my toes that had fit themselves into tight gray two inch heels on the marble ground. The tapping sound was like a white noise, calming me a bit.
I sighed and took a few breaths as my name was announced.
A man in a funny blue suit and yellow hair led my to a black and red stage. Black stage red curtains.
I had the urge to laugh, but he seemed friendly so I muffled it as a cough.
As I turned to face a lady in a black chair that blended into the background, I burst out laughing. "I'm sorry. I really am. It's just......." I stopped laughing as I noticed that the lady was 1: glaring at me, and 2: tapping her pearly white toes in her pearly white one inch heels impatiently.
"Sorry." I mumbled looking down at my glinting shoes.
Awkward.......
Well first impressions are important the one I just gave her wasn't good. A laughing lunatic maybe.
Her soft annoyed voice carried over the silence causing me to look up in her direction, but not in her eyes.
"Let's begin shall we?"
I nodded quickly my heart pounding so loud I was surprised she didn't say anything about it.
I'm going to be honest.
I'm not some badass who can kick anyone out of the arena or anyone's butt in particular.
But I'm not that defenseless. I'm not pathetic. I'm just saying in districts these days you have to know some kind of defense and attack for the games.
"Excuse me?" The woman asked her eyes glaring at me.
Oops!
"I-I uhh"
She sighed and asked again. "How do you like the capital? Is it very different from your district?" She pursed her lips and waited.
"I think that it is very different from my district." I replied looking at her red jacket and yellow skirt.
She raised a brown eyebrow and sighed again.
Oh......She wanted me to elaborate. Well then.....I guess we weren't going to be friends.
