Name: Vester Kane
Age: 17 (He died at age 18, but its been 17 years since he became a mummy and that's how they classify age)
Gender: Male
District: 8 Aegyptiaca
Race: Mummy
Volunteer or reaped: Volunteered
Appearance: He is fairly young for a mummy, not his age, just how long he's been mummified so his wrappings are still pretty clean. If you look behind his wrappings, there are even some parts that haven't shriveled up yet. You can see some brown hair sticking out of his wrappings and his eyes, one of the only visible parts of his body, are a bright blue.
Personality: Vester isn't a wealthy mummy, and hardly ever sees his parents because they are off doing a bunch of odd jobs to bring food to the table. He has three younger brothers and an older sister. His only escape from his troubles at home is school so he is smart, but more book smart than street smart.
Weapons/skills: Vester's eyes have magic in them and if he gazes in to his enemies eyes for more then 5 seconds he can send them into hallucinations of their deepest fears, or most wanted desires but never able to reach it, not unlike a lost wanderer in the desert seeing an oasis that doesn't exist. His wrappings also make good rope which he can use to tie up enemies or help to climb trees.
Weakness: Moist areas, and dirt are some of Vester's least favorite things. Vester also harbors deep feelings for Sabrina Olive and will do anything to protect her.
Weapon of choice: His magic eyes and wrappings
Backstory: Vester isn't as old a mummy that he has forgotten his living life yet. He knows, like all mummies, this memory will fade and so he writes down every little thing he can remember. His favorite part about his life in Aegyptiaca isn't the fact that he's forever in the body of an 18 year old, or that can still remember his first life, it's Sabrina Olive. He watched her grow up, since unlike mummies, she aged, and fell hopelessly in love. Everything about her to him, was perfect, but she was never reachable. Everyone loved her and so she was just something for him to gaze wistfully at and to create sick fantasies about. She had so many better options that he knew she would never even notice a guy like him. And then at the reaping, he had a chance. When she was reaped, he knew that his only chance left to be with her was to volunteer. All he had to do was volunteer first. At least now she would notice him, maybe even appreciate what he would do for her. But one thing was for sure. Even if she hated every part of him by the end of it, he would keep Sabrina Olive alive. Even if it was the last thing he'd ever do.
Token: His journal of memories as life as a human. Somewhere near the end of the book is a picture he found of Sabrina taped into it.
