"Oh come on, Elena!" Becca sat on the grass in the park.
"No, I told you I won't... I'm not in the mood!" I saw a happy couple playing with their dogs on the other side of the park.
"Elena! You say that all the time but the truth is that you have to continue to live..."
"The truth is that I have cancer!!" I yelled at her. I know it was unfair to be so mean to her because it wasn't her fault that there was cancer in my brain - it was nobody's fault.
She took a deep breath and then she turned to me. "Hun, I just want you to be happy. And I think it would be good if you could distract yourself."
I stared at the grass. "I know... Mmmh, maybe you're right. I'm sorry Becca, I didn't want to be so mean... I just..." I stumbled but she interrupted me.
"Sh... it's okay."
I smiled at her. "Thank you."
"So you're going with me then?"
"Mmmh, well... yeah, I think so."
"Awwww." She grinned and hugged me.
She closed her eyes and let the sunbeams shine on her face. It was a lovely day and it was quite warm for this time of the year.
She grinned cheekily and her eyes were still closed. "I guess I am not the only one who's happy about your shift of opinion now."
"Mmmh, what do you mean?"
"I'm talking about Louis."
"The boy from the café?"
"Yeah, Niall told me that Lou talks about you all day."
"Errrm, yeah, that's a bit weird to be honest."
She giggled. "I know... but listen! Louis is a lovely guy. Give him a chance to get to know you."
"We'll see about that that."
"Anyways... Let's go home to get ready." Becca still grinned.
We went to my home together. Becca was invited to a friend's house this evening and apparently someone asked for me to come with her."
After about two hours we went to the house Becca was invited to. I was a little bit nervous because I didn't know anyone of the people who were going to be there. All I knew was that Becca got to know a few of them because of Niall - her boyfriend.
"So... are you ready?" Becca asked me when we were standing at the door of Sophie's house.
I nodded and smiled unconvincingly. She put her hand on my shoulder. "Elena, you'll do great. It's going to be a nice evening. It isn't even a party. Just having a good laugh with a few people."
I nodded once again and took a deep breath when Becca knocked at the door.
I've always been really shy and this time I felt really nervous.
A curly haired boy opened the door. "Heeeeey Becca!" He grinned.
Then he turned to me. "So you're Elena then?"
I was confused. "Errrrm, yeah... that's me. How do you know?"
"Well, Louis is talking about you non-stop since we saw you at the café and it's hard to ignore him."
