Part 5 ♥

***Sometimes bad things happen for no reason, no purpose. They just occur and we're left to pick up the pieces the best we can.***

Elena's P.O.V.

I woke up in the middle of the night. It was the night after Dr. Sutherland told me the time I had left. Becca had gone home in the late evening.

I tumbled from my bed and tip-toed downstairs. I went to the door in the kitchen and went out into the garden. It was freezing and I had neither shoes nor socks on my feet. The grass was wet from rain. I wasn't freezing - I was feeling the cold. I lived it.

I closed my eyes and breathed in the fresh air. I looked up to the sky and watched the stars. They seemed so much brighter than they usually did.

I went back into the house and tip-toed back into my room. I put some clothes on and wrote a short note for my parentsjust in case they would wake up while I'm away. I wanted to go to the park.

I left the note in front of their bedroom and then left the house.

My new phone showed me that it was 2.37am when I was on my way to the park. When I arrived there I saw that I was the only person - no wonder, it was in the middle of the night.

I put my earphones on and then I turned on my iPod. With my eyes closed I felt like I could fly. I held my arms like I was going to spread them like wings. I whirled around. Then I took off my shoes and my warm coat. I was standing there in bare feet, jeans and a red top.

I closed my eyes again and took three steps forward. The cold and wet grass tickled my feet but it wasn't annoying.

While I was dancing to the next song the tears flooded my eyes again even though I tried to fight them. I didn't stop dancing though.

When the song ended I opened my eyes and I saw a person standing just a few steps away from me. I took the earphones out of my ears and looked at this person. I recognized Louis.

I quickly wiped away my tears and smiled at him. "Hey Lou, are you stalking me?" I giggled.

"Hello. Nope, not at all. I was on my way home and wanted to cut across the park... And yeah, then I saw a girl with no shoes on dancing on the grass. Don't you think this is a bit weird?" He had his hands in the pockets of his coat. It was so cold that I could see his breath in the air.

I shrugged. "Maybe the girl has a reason for it... I don't think it's weird... do you?"

"Mmh, it depends on how this girl would explain her reason to me."

I closed the gap between us and went to him to take his hands into mine.

"Sometimes an explanation isn't enough to understand, Lou." I whispered.

"What do you mean?" He looked curious.

"Take off your shoes."

"What?! But it's cold..." He said but I knew that he would take them off.

He stood next to me without his shoes and I turned my iPod on again and put one earphone into his ear and the other one into mine.

"Close your eyes." I whispered.

He did and then we did the same like I did without him before. This time he whirled me through the air. Then the song ended and a slow song started to play. I opened my eyes. "Naww, don't. Keep them closed." Louis said that to me with one hand on my cheek.

I did what he told me and then I felt his hot breath on my lips and it felt like ages until his lips finally met mine. For a minute we stood there lost in the kiss.
